Stripback Records (SBR03): digital release

Release date: 15th June 2009

After two successful releases, Stripback Records steps things up a gear for their third release with Waveform from label co-founder Graeme Lloyd. Its the London-based labels first release of 2009 and marks Graeme out as an emerging talent with a distinctive take on the progressive house blueprint. This is his second release for the label following the debut single Rock N Roll and Candiru, a collaboration with the Catz for Playtime Records and a firm favourite with Nic Fanciulli among others.

Waveform is pure class with its well crafted percussion, rolling synth lines and acid touches that builds and builds but never loses its essential groove. This is the sound that Graeme has been championing at his regular sets at The Gallery in London and which have made him a firm favourite with the crowd. DJ support has already come from D.Ramirez, Mason, Anil Chawla, Raymundo Rodriguez and more, as well as 5/5 from Dubfire who has followed Stripback Records from its inception.

A strong remix package sees I:AM, the duo of Stripback co-founder Fabian Chui and Hannibal Soares, take Waveform deep into electro house territory for some serious big room action. Hotly tipped techno producer Tommy Four Seven takes the track in a whole new direction with immaculate production and a clever twist at the end, while Dan Cat creates a deep tech vibe full of electronic strangeness for those after hours sessions.

With quality like this onboard its no surprise that Stripback Records is building a good name for itself with the debut release from I:AM, another Graeme Lloyd bomb, Code, and a single from Romanian signing Sean Jay Dee waiting in the wings.

Waveform is available from Beatport, djdownload.com and most major download stores.
