Saturday August 6th will witness a truly great live show as nu-disco-house revivalists Hercules and Love Affair make their Sankeys debut.
The globe-trotting collective, helmed by visionary Andrew Butler, have electrified festivals and clubs around the world and will perform live at Sankeys for a unique summer show. Quite simply dont miss this!
HALA have electrified the world since their eponymously titled first album in 2008 on DFA which led to a glowing, rapturous response from music scribes, bloggers and admirers inspired by their new sound. Lovingly crafted with many references, ideas and soundscapes inspired from the past created something entirely new, the album sent the band into the spotlight of the limelight.
Helmed by a restless imagination and joyful love from front-man Andrew Butler in a paean to the eclectic scenes he treasures, HALA fuse eighties house and disco to melancholy sojourns and upbeat dance numbers, further reflected in their 2010 album Blue Songs on legendary label Moshi Moshi.
With incredible energy, the band are truly something else in terms of their music and stage presence. Support comes from Kalukis resident and promoter Ellesse, Sankeys newest resident Jozef K and upstairs Treehouse present Andy Ash, Plastic Co, Jay Smith.
