Over the past year or so, we've been working on a mini-documentary focusing on Liverpool's independent venues, and the issues facing them.
We've covered the familiar themes of how over-development, licensing and the financial constraints of promoting music events effects Liverpool’s creative community - and what makes the city thrive despite them.
Speaking with some of the key venue owners, promoters and artists, we've explored the cyclical nature of Liverpool's ever evolving use of independent venues and spaces and the challenges presented to all who use them.
We'll be premiering the mini-documentary at Constellations on Thursday 17th January, and will shortly after host a panel with some music industry experts to discuss exactly why Liverpool continues to defiantly boast one of the best music scenes in the world.
