Hudson Mohawke Goes Back to Back with Rustie

Never short of a cracking line up or two, Leeds' iconic rave emporium The Warehouse sees two internationally acclaimed DJs and producers go back to back for a delectable journey through trap, hip hop and electronica on Saturday 11th October.

Hudson Mohawke, or HudMo as he's often referred to has enjoyed a stellar career that he kickstarted as the youngest ever UK DMC finalist, at the mere age of 15. His productions soon caught the attention of the leftfield community too - by 2009 he was singed up to Warp Records, one of the globe's most respected electronic music labels.

His ear for mutilated hip hop themes combined with lush, vibrant instrumentation and off kilter weirdness has really struck a chord with those looking for intelligent electronic music (listen to that in 'Chimes' above), which is probably why Kanye West hooked him in to produce two tracks on his acclaimed Yeezus LP - high praise indeed from perhaps the world's most renowned hip hop pioneer.

Rustie has similarly been a producer that has honed a sound distinctly his own. Sometimes described as lazer hip hop, but taking in elements of heavy electro, crunk, bass music and trap, the Glaswegian trailblazer's soaring melodies work perfectly with his killer beats, as could be witnessed throughout his newest LP Green Language, a record adored by music journo's everywhere (see why from 'Attack' above).
