The annual Independent Venue Week is happening from Monday 30th January to Sunday 5th February this year and it is the biggest celebration of the venues across the UK that we cherish so much. There's no better way of supporting these amazing cultural institutions than by attending gigs, so we've compiled some of the best from across the country that you can find tickets for on Skiddle.

Where: Hare and Hounds, Birmingham
The Hare and Hounds in Birmingham is known as a venue that hosts some of the very best upcoming talents in the music industry. This time they'll be hosting an absolute legend in Lowkey and the hip-hop artist/activist will not only be performing but meeting and greeting fans after the show too.

Where: The Ferret, Preston
English Teacher have been one of the most highly regarded new UK acts of the past couple of years. They will be playing The Ferret in Preston and are bringing songs from their much-praised 'Polyawkward' EP which was released in 2022. Here's your chance to see why they have received so much hype.

The Thaw, Bed, Tonto & Tamanfaya
When: Friday 3rd February
Where: Room 2, Glasgow
Room 2 presents a quadruple threat of a line-up which includes The Thaw, Tonto, Bed and Tamanfaya. The night highlights some of the very best new alternative rock music coming from the local scene, which thrives in venues such as this. This will be a brilliant celebration of live music.

Pandas, The Exhales, Alesia, Go To Girl
When: Friday 3rd February
Where: Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh
4 brilliant bands will be under one roof at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh. Indie rockers unite as some amazing riffs and licks will be heard throughout the night. Going to a music venue is all about finding that new band that you'll fall in love with and you have 4 excellent choices here.

When: Sunday 5th February
Where: The Jacaranda Club, Liverpool
A lot of unique artists will be descending upon Liverpool during IVW and one that you can't afford to miss is Vesper. Playing The Jacaranda Club for only £4, you'll be treated to some towering vocals amongst acoustic and folk sounds. Igloo Hearts, Aurelia Cohen and Euan Blackman will also be appearing.
When: Thursday 2nd February
Where: EBGBs, Liverpool
If you're not familiar with Duvet, they are a five-piece band from Manchester who play post-punk music inspired by the current boom of talent within the genre. Looking to carve out their own space in the genre, they have booming lead vocals and branch off into harcore stylings too.
When: Sunday 5th February
Where: Phase One, Liverpool
An acoustic evening awaits you over at Phase One in Liverpool as the graceful vocals of Eleanor Nelly quiet the room. Playing an intimate stripped-back set, prepare to sing along and see an artist in an incredibly close space. For the price of £5 you can't go wrong here.

There have been some pretty incredible descriptions of Sweet Beans who have taken on the tags, riot jazz, dark funk and groove punk. If anything, it just goes to show how deliberately chaotic their shows are and if you like to revel in chaos yourself then this will be a perfect match.
When: Monday 30th January
Where: Phase One, Liverpool
Another brilliant show at Phase One, it will be the home of another intimate and stripped-back performance. This time it is the turn of More In Luv, an indie band that will be looking to steal your heart with their set. It is the perfect way to kick off Independent Venue Week.
