The 10th anniversary of V is set to be the biggest yet as organisers unveil a further 5 new acts today. The festival, sponsored by Virgin Mobile, has sold out - but THE acts of 2005 keep rolling in: The Hives, Idlewild, KT Tunstall, I Am Kloot and Tom Baxter.

V takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on the weekend of 20th-21st August. The acts will join previously announced headliners Oasis, Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand, and a host of the music industry’s biggest names both past and present.

Festival Director Bob Angus commented:

“It’s just great to see the line up continue to shape up to be such a strong one for our 10th anniversary year. We’re very proud of our festival - we’ve announced 39 artistes to date and still have so much more to come.”

The Hives claimed five awards at the Swedish Grammies earlier this year for their combination of showmanship, excitement and having a bloody good time on stage. They are set to rock V this year with their catchy melodies and black and white attire!

Having released their fifth album, ‘Warnings/Promises’, Idlewild are currently touring the UK. This will be the Scottish rockers third appearance at V and they will treating festival goers with their soul-stirring sounds.

Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall’s live shows have been winning critical acclaim across Britain this year and her performance at V promises to do the same. KT’s second single is released this month and she is touring the UK prior to the fest in August.

The Manchester three-piece I Am Kloot have had a busy 2005 so far. After touring Europe, the US and the UK, they are coming to V with songs from their third album ‘Gods And Monsters’. Watch out for the obscure third-hand organ they acquired from an old people’s home!

Tom Baxter is playing on the JJB/Puma stage at V this year. His music builds from acoustic beginnings to a real emotional intensity, thanks to his unique voice. Tom has been gigging tirelessly throughout the UK and has supported David Gray.
