Independent Venue week is right around the corner, here is a roundup of some of the best events by region.

One of the best parts of Independent Venue Week is the sheer amount of gigs that are put on across the UK. With an influx of live performances coming between January 31st to February 6th, we thought we'd narrow down by region the best gigs that you can catch. Get down and support your local! They need your help now more than ever.

Yorkshire
When: Tuesday 1st February
Where: Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
The Districts will be bringing you the sounds of their fifth album Great American Painting to Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. The Philadelphia based band will be joined by Izzy Heltai on support. This is one of the best independent venues in the country and you should definitely catch The Districts on their latest tour.

Where: Network, Sheffield
Emerging from the DIY scene in Manchester, False Advertising are releasing grunge-inspired alternative rock tracks which means they're primed to offer you mosh pits aplenty when you go and see them live. With a debut album under their belts, we can't wait to see what comes next from the band.

Midlands
Iluvlive Presents Birmingham Live
When: Tuesday 1st February
Where: Hare and Hounds, Birmingham
Iluvlive is supported by Arts Council England and have supported so many artists that have gone on to do great things such as Ed Sheeran, Wretch 32 and Katy B. The next best talent might be at this Birmingham showcase where a whole host of new artists are set to play.

Where: Castle and Falcon, Birmingham
Nova Twins have become absolutely huge recently, recording with Bring Me the Horizon and even supporting them on their UK tour in 2021. There's no doubt that this heavy rock duo are destined for great things and you can see them in Birmingham on IVW. They are an absolute riot live.

Where: The Black Prince, Northampton
Andy Bell is a musician who has been there and done that. Now the Ride guitarist embarks on his own solo tour titled Space Station. His resume knows no bounds and his solo project was in the early stages when he was asked by Stereolab to support them. Now it's a full-fledged project that we can't wait to see.

SouthWest
When: Tuesday 1st February
Where: The Louisiana, Bristol
The K's are a throwback to the Madchester scene. They're making indie rock to get you up and off of your feet. With a live show that is known for its energy, Department S is bringing the band to Bristol. If indie rock is right up your street then you can't really say no to this one.

Where: The Crown, Bristol
This Feeling are bringing The Shakes over to Bristol for IVW. If you're looking for a gig that isn't going to drop in tempo all night then look no further. The Liverpool/London band are determined to make you fans, so you'd better start to pay attention to this incredibly promising indie band.

East Sussex
Where: Hope and Ruin, Brighton
This Feeling will also be bringing The Shakes to Brighton in this long-running tour that coincides with IVW. So, if you fancy a night down in Brighton instead then you can watch The Shakes in the walls of the Hope and Ruin. It's a night that won't disappoint with sound blasting out of the speakers.

Scotland
When: Friday 4th February
Where: Room 2, Glasgow
Room 2 is putting on a whole host of events this IVW, supporting local Scottish artists and platforming them on their stage. The first of which is Land of Rubber Men, who take influence from the whole spectrum of rock think surf, indie and even some Ska. nowhere is off limits.

Where: Room 2, Glasgow
In this showcase, Room 2 will be presenting The Laurettes who are an acoustic duo. They channel a whole range of sounds from folk to 90s rave. It'll definitely be an eclectic night of sound as the pair channel all of their musical talent. Come down and see a local act kill it.

When: Sunday 6th February
Where: Room 2, Glasgow
Room 2 will be welcoming down Ska legends Esperanza and Rudebeard sown for this special IVW show. With a high-tempo set promised there will definitely not be any dull moments at this one. With infectious rhythms all over the place, we dare you to try and not have at least a bit of a dance.

Where: EBGB's, Liverpool
In a series of nights showcasing all things Hip Hop, this is a playground for all kinds of styles. Expect no two acts to be the same as your breath is taken away by amazing bars, irresistible flows and infectious percussion. With a brilliant line-up on the cards, don't miss this one.

Where: Kazimir Stockroom, Liverpool
James Canty is a songwriter from Essex who composes pop and folk songs that sound effortlessly beautiful. Come and be captivated by his songs at Kazimir Stockroom in Liverpool. He'll be joined by Tepid Days and Astles on Wednesday, making for a night of brilliant live music.

In this showcase The Ivies will be launching their latest single. With support coming from San Pedro's Vision and Pilgrims, this will be a celebratory gig as it'll be the first time that this new single is launched. There's no better place to spend a Friday night than down at your local venue.

Where: Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool
For IVW Invisible Wind Factory will be putting on a very special showcase where all the details are very hush hush. The headliner has not been announced but we're sure it will be one worthy of filling the venue to capacity and we can't wait to see who is revealed. Watch this space.

The Zangwills will be joined by Urbanparcs and The Facades for this gig. The headliners are a band who like to switch between indie pop, new wave and rock. It's a sound that makes for a highly entertaining live spectacle. It's a gig that will be full of brilliant riffs and killer hooks.

Handyman x Mellowtone IVW Special
When: Sunday 6th February
Where: Handyman Supermarket, Liverpool
Handyman and Mellowtone are coming together to put on some of their favourite artists. They'll be curating a night of artists important to Liverpool such as Edgar Jones. There will also be some special guests so keep your eyes peeled for more information closer to the event.

Tertia May is a jazz artist who has been making waves since as early as 2018. Now on her latest tour, she'll be stopping off at Manchester, upgrading the venue to the basement in YES. She's well-loved by fans and critics alike and this will be a stunning show to see.

Dubbed as a feminist electropunk trio, Clt DRP will definitely not be a boring live proposition. If you like electronic music that is interwoven with DIY and indie aesthetics then this will be the gig for you in Blackpool. Get dancing and get angry whilst losing your mind to their music.

The Lounge Society are an incredibly promising band signed to Speedy Wunderground. Emerging from the post-punk scene, these teenagers from Hebden Bridge are making somgs that hint upon modern political issues whilst surrounding them with brilliant hooks. They are not ones to be missed.
