As one of the most exciting and inventive young DJs to come out of the UK in the past few years, self-confessed pioneer junkie and technical whizzkid D.O.D. has managed to make quite the name for himself of the international circuit; slaying crowds wherever he goes with his boundless energy, turntable wizardry and imaginative DJ sets.

Following a triumphant appearance at last year's Wickerman, this month sees D.O.D. return to Scottish festival to play the Skiddle.com tent on the Friday night.

We caught up with him ahead of Wickerman to find out how things have been since we last met, and what he has in store for Wickerfans on July 20th.

Hi D.O.D! How have the past 12 months been for you since you last played Wickerman?

Absolutely amazing! I've been working hard in the studio making original tracks and remixes, all of which are coming out in the next three months. I'm also touring around Europe for the festival season. It's all very exciting!

You smashed the Skiddle tent at Wickerman last year for the 10th anniversary - what are your memories of that night?

The crowd! They were incredible. I was a little optimistic about my set as I was on at the same time as the headliner for that evening, but it was a great turnout for my performance - Wickerman festival goers really know their music!

Are you looking forward to returning? What do you have in store?

I've been working hard making edits for the set to add that extra punch. Add that to the new addition to my DJ set up - the Pioneer RMX1000 - and we have ourselves a party!

Have you had chance to look at the rest of the line-up? Anyone you're going to try and get to see?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to check out my two buddies Jordan Suckley and Kryder. They are amazing DJs and always a pleasure to watch. Steve Lawler will also be at the top of my list for the Friday!

What are your top three essential items for any festival?

A wind up torch.

Baby wipes.

Petrol to get you home.

What's your favourite ever festival memory?

Fatboy Slim at Global Gathering 2006, changed my way of thinking as a DJ!

What are your top three tracks of this summer?

D.O.D - Headache In A Bottle (Original Mix)

Hardwell - Three Triangles (Original Mix)

Deadmau5 - The Veldt (Tommy Trash Remix)

You've had some really strong support from big name DJs like Edie Halliwell Tiesto, and Gareth Emery to name but a few. How important has this support been to your success?

It's been a integral part to the progression of my career. I'm so thankful for the support that my peers are consistently giving me, it really helps build my profile.

Your music fuses a range of genres - what binds it all together?

Acapellas and trickery on the decks!

What are your fans like? What's the craziest thing a fan's ever done/said to you?

I have a lot of people asking me to sign their passport. I've been told by my management that the golden rule is to never sign a passport. I may have broken that once or twice, but apparently it's naughty so shhhhh!

What's coming up in the next 12 months for D.O.D?

Constant touring, solid music releases and lots of hard work - just the way I like it.

If you were hanging up your headphones forever, what's the one last track that you'd play as your final song?

Sandy B - You Make The World Go Round (Deep Dish Remix)
