Adapted for the stage by Keith Wyatt from Irvine Welsh's 'Ecstasy', comes a collection of three short stories based on chemical romance. Crowned by The Face magazine as 'the poet laureate of the chemical generation. Ecstasy is Wales's raw, dark and witty look at love set amongst Edinburgh slang. Ecstasy also looks at the euphoric highs and lows of recreational drug use.

Lloyd (Jack McGowan) is in an opportunistic sexual relational with Hazel. His colourful friends include Woodsy who's set up the 'Rave Gospel Club' after findin God. Through Lloyd's stream-of-conciousness, the audience are taken to the graphic heart of his awkward sexual encounters and drugs fuelled shenanigans. Yet it seems there's something missing for lloyd in all of this.

Heather (Maddy Lewis) finds a new lease of life away from her dull husband, as she discovers drugs and embraxces the rave scene. In Heather, Lloyd finally finds a reason to curb his drug binges. Does Lloyd have the will power and desire to break the habit of a lifetime and see Heather as more than just a potential lover? Can Heather show Lloyd that there is more to life then necking pills and that love is the ultimate drug?

Maddy Lewis comments 'Ecstasy is Irvine Welsh's twist on the classic love story and I am thrilled to stage it in Edinburge, the city which it is set in.'
