Yes, it's always good in Manchester's basements.
I've been transfixed with record shops since I was about 11. My mum would get me a single when we went out shopping.
No, but I had all the timings right. People needed it when it happened.
Obviously doing a good gig is always a great feeling, especially when you have residencies and the crowd all become mates. But also being respected by your peers is good. Getting a City Life award was very nice, and being asked to do Chemical Brothers.
A total family affair as most of the people involved have been there since the beginning, so it has been an amazing experience to be involved with. Lovely people, travelling etc… 99% highs, although been on stage at Glastonbury was pretty scary.
The Soundsmiths from Sheffield and Detroit, Manchester, New York and Brazil.
A lot of friends have killer collections so it's always them. The Basics crew kill it for house, RuffDug, Spandex and co. You still can't touch the big US jocks sometimes. Neil D and PBR on the disco. Moon, Mison, Balearic Mike, Lexx, Move D.
It's got the most with it crowd musically in a lot of ways. Bands that play here say that if you can win the crowd in Manchester you can do it anywhere. Unforgiving but also extremely loving.
Tokyo. It's completely alien to westerners, and people are obsessively into music.
Sweden.
I spend a lot of time making music as this is a must these days. You can't just be a DJ now, but in a lot of ways it's easier if you are good to spread awareness.
Vakula 'Pictures of You', Wilco 'One Sunday Morning', Begin 'Lay'(sorry).
Far too many to list!
One is never enough.
I just have to take one day at a time.
Fun, some musical textures and a couple of drinks.
