Whilst Bloc Party continue to take time out form the music biz, lead singer Kele has made himself very busy indeed by pursuing his love for dance music, alluring lauded imprints Crosstown Rebels and !K7 to the cause, signifying his underlying talent within the genre.
In light of his upcoming second album, Kele has announced two select shows that will take place at London's Oval Space on Saturday 15th November before he heads to Manchester's Gorilla on Saturday 29th November.
After gaining the plaudits for his rework of 'Obscene' on his !K7 mix series, Kele's 'Heartbreaker EP' was understandably snapped up by Damien Lazarus lauded Crosstown Rebels imprint. In it, Kele unleashes a rhythmic journey laced with housey synth stabs built upon his reliably infectious vocal, whilst the flip side boasts a killer remix from techno protagonist Recondite.
Further material came on Crosstown earlier this year when Kele brought out his second EP for the label - 'Candy Flip', which witnessed him implementing a raw, darker edge to his material.
Most recently, 'Doubt' (above), lifted from his forthcoming LP Tricks, sees the mercurial talent in fine form, producing a down tempo, percussion based beast laced with dub effects and lingering chords built around Kele's own vocal, suggesting the pathway his latest album will take.
Kele Tour Dates:
London, Oval Space, Saturday 15th November
Manchester, Gorilla, Saturday 29th November
