The fancy dress theme for this year's Kendal Calling is 'Fairy Tales and Comic Books'.

The fancy dress element of Kendal Calling has grown to become an essential part of the festival in recent years, and this year's theme offers plenty of scope for festival goers to let their imaginations go wild.
Anyone attending the festival on the Saturday (28th July) is encouraged to get involved.
Organisers have also announced the return of the 'Happy Slap Boutique', with an eclectic programme of live music, circus, cabaret and other colourful goings on.
Tickets have been getting snapped up for this years Kendal Calling festival and a full to bursting line up has already been unveiled that includes Dizzee Rascal, James, Maximo Park, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, We Are Scientists, The View and many more. See the full Kendal Calling line up.
The music and activities in the Kendal Calling meadow span 11 diverse stages and areas, situated in a close-knit site that means you’re never far from your friends. Festival areas include Mainstage, GLoW dance tent, Calling Out new music stage, Kaylied tent, Soapbox, Kids Area, Kendal Calling Real Ale Festival tent, Garden of Eden, Village Green, New Woodland area (details tba), Happy Slap boutique, Riot Jazz, Houseparty and new for 2012; Tim Peak’s Diner brought to you by Tim Burgess of the Charlatans.
