Kendrick Lamar announces new album 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers'

The Compton-born rap star returns with his first album release in five years, the follow up to 2017's 'DAMN'

The wait is finally over for Kendrick Lamar fans. After five long years, K-Dot - or Oklama as he now prefers to be called - has announced his return with new music this spring, revealing the release date of his next album project, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, on Friday 13th May.

Taking to social media yesterday (18th April), the internationally-acclaimed rapper posted an official statement regarding the highly anticipated record. Published via oklama.com in conjunction with his multi-media company, PGLang, which he co-founded back in 2020 with former Top Dawg Entertainment president, Dave Free, the declaration, seen below, displays the intriguing name of the new release and the date upon which in fans can first listen to it.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will follow up on Lamar's Pulitzer Prize-winning album, DAMN, released back in 2017. Heading out across the globe in support of the new album, the rapper, dubbed 'the most important rapper in America' by Time Magazine, is set to appear on stage at Glastonbury this summer alongside the likes of Beatles legend, Paul McCartney and Billie Eilish, as well as performing at Rolling Loud Miami and Rock in Roma.
