LWE bring Until the Ribbon Breaks to London

LWE make a slight detour form their usual rave tour de force for an intimate live show with the hotly tipped Until the Ribbon Breaks.

We're big fans of London Warehouse Events at Skiddle, with their reclamation of the capital's unique spaces as refashioned rave environs a winning formula across the great and the good of electronic music.

That formula though is being shifted slightly to focus on live music next month, as they collaborate with Goldenvoice to bring the ethereal and eerie pop of Until the Ribbon Breaks to the 200 capacity Studios Spaces on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch on Thursday 2nd October.

The group are led by Welshman Peter Lawrie, but have found particular favour stateside where they have taken up residence, and their breathy and unflinchingly honest brand of pop has seen them earn favour from the likes of Spin and Pitchfork. In particular their covers have irked the most interest, their recent re-imagination of Robert Palmer's turbo sex drive anthem 'Addicted to Love' as a haunting ballad (watch above).

The group have supported Lorde, Phantogram and Delorean as well as holding their own sell out residency for a month at LA's Bootleg Theatre, but this will be their first ever London date before they return back to their adopted home of the US to support London Grammar.

Lawrie previously studied film and creates the videos that accompany the songs, stating a clear relatinoship between music and the moving image which seeps into the recording process as well, with cut up samples and the heady collage of noise at the heart of their sound.
