Lantern of the North - Showcase #1 - Sons o' the Soil, Mind Gone Blind, Edgar Road, Christie Road

Finally the Lantern is lit and we come out of the shadows. On Saturday 18th April we will host five local bands at The Bishopmill Hall, Elgin to showcase some of the talented artists we have in the area.

On the bill we have Christie Row a three piece Rock band from Elgin/Forres who have been together since late 2013, they are currently in the process of releasing their debut album and have been getting a fair bit of airplay on the local KCR radio station.

Edgar Road, who have just recently com...pleted their line up look forward to their debut gig at the Bishopmill Hall, featuring previous members of Celtic Rock band Crannog, they still have some of that Crannog vibe but they continue to evolve within Alternative Rock taking in new styles and influences. They have also recently had a number three in the unsigned Top 100 artists chart with the track ?If the Sun?s in the Sky?.

Mind Gone Blind, a great Hard Rock band from Keith have played Elgin and the surrounding area many times in their fourteen year history.
They look forward to gracing the Bishopmill Hall stage.
This will be first chance to hear some of their new tunes from the recently released ?Everything You?ve Ever Learned? ep.

Sons o? the Soil who previously featured in our Friday Bio Section are no strangers to the live arena having graced the Speyfest stage many times.
Since releasing their first self titled ep in 2007 their blend of Rock mixed with the traditional sound of their Celtic Roots has taken them around Scotland, France and Ireland.

Final act on the bill is William Freeman, hailing from Lossiemouth but now playing his music in Glasgow where he also studies music production.
His Soft guitar melodies mixed with meaningful lyrics provide easy listening songs that fit comfortably in the folk/acoustic genre.
