Shivoo hosts a final landmark party in the place which helped make their name. the last few weeks have been will they-won’t they, but now it seems certain that the final curtain will be drawn over Original 4 in April, making this the last Shivoo to be held there.

The epicentre of Shivoo’s East Midlands empire - and with Original Four having settled into its third year of Shivoo canery - it’s quickly become a fixture in the hearts of the regions clubbers, which makes this all the more poignant a party. Shivoo’s natty brand of concocting crazy line-ups to get the ravers frothing at the mouth continues this with a devilishly good concoction of dark and light to conclude what’s been a loving relationship; full of ups and downs but always smiling at the end.

Headlining are the Black Ghosts, the voice of Simian Simon Lord’s new project with former Wiseguy Theo Keating (DJ Touché), whose devilishly dark electro noir has caused intense clamouring amongst both the indie and dance crowds. Lord’s vocals remain iconic (it was he that unmistakeably voiced SMD’s ‘We Are Your Friends’), whilst here they fashion bittersweet ballads looking at the murkier sides to relationships, soundtracking the eerier elements of love. ‘Any Way to Choose It’ is a case in point, boasting a muse who remains littered with lustful desires yet held back by the fear of failure. And these themes sit atop a skittering electro back-drop which entertains the feet just as emphatically as the mind. Ones to watch for sure.

The second room once again will be bopping and grooving to the innate magic of funk. Manning the hatches here will be Fingerlickin’s Boy Wonder A-Skillz, a man whose light-fingered assaults through body popping hip-hop, ass-shaking funk and his signature rowdy breaks have garnered him some serious acclaim over the years. His sets have lit up Shivoo on a number of occasions in the past, and as a perfect tonic for the moody hedonism for the main room, it can’t get much better. Support for him comes from Collo and DJ Jobe, whilst in the bar the beats and grooves supplied by Jonna.

A sad time then, but you can bet the guys will finish with a flourish. And not one to let the grass grow anywhere near their feet, Shivoo are making a new home at Leicester University, starting with their 4^th birthday party on Saturday May 10^th.
