One of reggae music's most inspiring, influential and iconic characters has joined the Equinox Festival 2017 line up, as he looks set to deliver a roots rock inspired performance come the festival which takes place later this year.
Lee 'Scratch' Perry has been a part of reggae right from its foundations, working as an engineer and singer at the legendary Studio 1 in Kingston, where he helped to produce early work from the Wailers.
He helped to pair Bob Marley with genius guitarist Peter Tosh, as well as Bunny Wailer and the Barnet Brothers, thus creating Bob Marley and the Wailers who proved to be an unmatched musical force.
As a musician himself, 'Scratch' has produced a heap of iconic records, including most famously 'Disco Devil', and remains as prolific now as he was back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. His latest work Science, Magic, Logic came out just this year and represents the Octogenarian's ability to never sit still as he searches to deliver new sounds, new messages and simply glorious music.
He joins the bill at Equinox, which takes place between Friday 22nd - Sunday 24th September, and will play alongside the likes of Gong, John Otway and much much more.
