Northern clubbing hot spot, Leeds' Mint Warehouse will mark an incredible decade in the nighttime and live music industries this weekend with not one, but two epic birthday celebrations on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th January.

Opened back in 2012, Water Lane in Holbeck was nothing more than a baron industrial wasteland. A collection of disused warehouse spaces and overgrown expanses of concrete. Bought by the team behind the now sadly defunct Mint Club, another Leeds-based UK club institution, the site was initially kept in its raw state, fitted only with some giant Function One sound system stacks and nothing more. Despite its unconventional and rugged appearance, the space became an instant hit with ravers and DJs alike, with numbers flocking to the club week in, week out.

Fast forward a few years and the club's transformation is something to behold. The outdoor space has now been converted into a legendary terrace, renowned for its fifteen-hour long parties with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and techno legend, Raresh. The Main Room, a supersized version of the space at its former sister venue, the Mint Club, has been fitted with a huge LED ceiling and a state of the art sound system. The venues loft room has received the same treatment as will the Boiler Room, a fourth cosy space still undergoing its final renovation.

Over the decade, Mint Warehouse has continued to grow in stature and reputation, becoming one of few purpose-designed spaces to experience club culture in Leeds. The attention given to the venues finer details, such as the in-house sound system and lighting production, is what has long stood the club apart, as have the quality of DJs who have graced its stages.

Displays that people still talk about years later include a dynamic showcase with Solomun back in 2010, Prism with Patrick Topping in 2014, the Fuse Terrace Party with Enzo Siragusa, Archie Hamilton, Seb Zito and Ion Ludwig in 2019, and the grand reopening in 2021 with Dyed Soundorom, The Ghost and Ricardo Villalobos... memories that are now part of the city's musical folklore and factors that have allowed Mint Warehouse to take over from where the still sadly missed Mint Club left off.

Kick-starting what the team behind the venue have proclaimed to be their 'most adventurous and accomplished season to date' this year, both this weekend's events are set to feature an extensive list of acclaimed DJs and producers.

Opening the two-part birthday weekender, punters can expect a raw and no-frills warehouse filling soundtrack courtesy of lofty selectors the likes of Mella Dee, Chaos in the CBD, and, the analogue wizard, KiNK.

The following night will welcome Drumcode head honcho and global techno titan, Adam Beyer with long time and trusty resident, Bobby O'Donnell and Annie Errez playing both nights alongside other red hot local talents.

Once the dust has settled, following what looks to be a very heavy weekend of dance music, there'll still be plenty to look forward to with performances lined up throughout the remainder of the year with Chicago original Green Velvet, techno pair Pan-Pot, slick minimal selector, Sonja Moonear, party-starting Aussie, Mall Grab, house hero, Darius Syrossian, Rossko, Latmun, Alisha and many more.

Tickets for both anniversary events are still available but in extremely high demand. Scroll down to secure yours now before it's too late...
