Legendary UK house night Rude celebrates its 17th birthday this Friday at Sankeys, with a special party headlined by Jason Herd.
Starting life way back in 1994, the Oldham clubnight used to attract over 900 people every Friday night at its peak, with successful spells at most of Oldham's nightclubs and residencies in Huddersfield and Preston.
RUDE’S legendary status was cemented when it moved to Club 360 for what turned out to be a five year residency that turned a little known art cafe bar into Oldham's coolest club, packed to capacity every Saturday night before its doors shut for the last time on October 28th 2006.
These five years saw Rude bring some of the biggest DJS, P.A.S and Club Tours to Oldham, with the likes of Danny Rampling, Jeremy Healy, Brandon Block, Kathy Brown, Lisa Millet, ATFC, Jason Herd, Seamus Haji, Copywright, Shovell, Graeme Park, Mis Moneypennys, Defected in the House, Pukka Up, Kinky Malinki and many, many more gracing the Rude decks over the years.
17 years since its inception, Rude returns this weekend with a huge party headlined by Manchester’s own Jason Herd; a talisman on the local scene and also a globally-revered spinner. There’s a brace of talent supporting Jason in the Basement, as well as a Rude takeover in the Bar spearheaded by Daz Pearson, Danny Knight and Mike Thewlis.
