Liam Gallagher has well and truly restarted the rumour mill after hinting that he may join his brother Noel on stage for the Manchester Arena reopening gig next month.
The venue will reopen on Saturday 9th September following the terror attack earlier this year that claimed the lives of 22 people.
Some of the artists confirmed for the event include Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Courteeners and Blossoms, with proceeds from the night going towards the Manchester Memorial Fund, which aims to establish a permanent tribute to the victims of the attack.
Speculation began following a tweet in which Liam said he'd 'love to play that gig in MCR', but has been booked for an appearance in Spain, before adding, 'saying that though it’s only a hop skip n a jump'.
I would love to play that gig in MCR on sept 9th but I'm afraid I'm playing in Spain saying that though it's only a hop skip n a jump LG x

Fans of the band also had their hopes raised in June when a member of the Black Eyed Peas appeared to confirm Noel was playing the One Love benefit gig at Emirates Old Trafford, which Liam was already booked for. The tweet was later confirmed to be a genuine mistake.
