Limmy for Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

After his debut live show at the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival sold out in under an hour -a festival record- , Limmy is once again stepping out from behind the webcam to make his Edinburgh Fringe debut at The Stand Comedy Club.

Glasgow's Brian Limond (aka Limmy) first tasted internet fame in 2002 when his swearing xylophone caused a flurry of excitement amongst lads mags and pushed Sir Patrick Moore from the top of Google's 'xylophone' hits. With his online playthings and animations jumping from inbox to inbox at a phenomenal rate, Brian decided he should take his comedy career a bit more seriously.

In 2006, he wrote, produced and performed the dark character monologues that peopled cult podcast Limmy's World of Glasgow. Within weeks, Primary School Power Broker Wee Gary, recovering heroin addict Jacqueline McCafferty and English Glasgow-ophile Phil were rolling in celebrity plaudits, rave reviews and word-of-mouth fandom.

The podcast shot into the UK iTunes Top 10 (the only homemade podcast in the chart, more than holding its own against Mr Gervais and co) and Limmy was cited as an influence on Franz Ferdinand's second album, profiled on BBC 2's The Culture Show and, by special request, introduced Aussie rockers Jet in front of 2000 pint-flinging Glasgow fans. Even RuPaul came out as a fan. What began as a web designer's pet project had introduced 'Scotland's greatest new character comedian' ( The Culture Show )

What's more, you don't have to know how to switch on a computer, or even be an international superstar, to enjoy Limmy's Show. Some World of Glasgow favourites will be breaking out to appear live in the capital and they'll be joined by a unique mix of brand-new dark sketches, daft videos and meandering monologues.
