PIRATE RADIO

"I think, musically, you're doing something different... merging punk rhythms with funk slap and very socially aware, Anglo-tastic vox is a unique blend, to say the least..." - Toby Head Of Transgressive Records

"Aerosmith, once sang, I dont want to miss a thing. It does make the headline band seem even better when you’ve had to traipse through the wasteland of not just the support band but the support-support band a bad cover version of something that happened back in Manchester 1995. Pirate Radio the main support band, from Luton, were a lot better. Upbeat tunes in the style of The Arctic Monkeys:" - BBC.co.uk

THE KID JONES

A four piece, indie/rock band with a sound that is both commercial and alternative. They take influences from bands such as Radiohead, Muse and The Beatles but feel like they have found our own sound. They started back in 2007 gigging round pubs and clubs in London, creating a good following and growing stronger in creating a full live sound. 2009 will see the band release their first EP as well as a LIVE disc demostrating their skill and passion to perform!

Formed out of the ashes of "This Monday" and "Fire FM", they aim to get you up and dancing to their own brand of electro-acoustic wizardry. With comparisons already being made to early Pavement + Weezer they seem to be well on track.

THURSDAY 13TH AUGUST

GOLDMINE MAXIMUM ROCK N ROLL PRESENTS:

FOUNDLINGS

"A fine blend of pin-point almost spoken word vocals and tales of journeys along England’s psychotic autobahns - the spirit of the age."

"..refined blend of gentle progressive kraut rock."

"The Rickenbacker twelve string adds a contradictory jingle that makes their inspired sound rather unique – a kind of My Bloody Valentine for Motorway City times and One More Grain disciples."

"Robert Calvert, Mark E. Smith, Boards of Canada, Tortoise, and all the time the contradictory jangle of that Rickenbacker – so obvious a combination, why hasn’t anyone else done this? Stone Roses for Neu heads!"

REMODEL

Remodel are a guitar band, this is obvious by virtue of the fact they have a guitar player. They are also a pop band, but pop in the sense of bands like the Who, The Smiths and blur. Like all classic British pop bands they are a fourpiece.

Exiled Salopians to a man, they plough their own Elysian Fields and wait for their seeds to germinate.
