Lying at the epicentre of the Birmingham music scene, The Rainbow Venues is responsible for funnelling the city's music heads with high grade artists, whatever the discipline.
As festival season begins too hand the baton to the intimacy of the live venue, we must turn our attention to the premium pool of acts lined up for The Rainbow in September.
From cascading psych-pop to A-grade singer/songwriters, they have sewn an almighty roster of live acts for the month, and we've strived to bring you the best of them.
At the front end of the month, experimental rock group The Dear Hunter, a side project of Casey Crescenzo, sweeps the space on Thursday 3rd. Sludgy garage rockers Wand make our next pick on Saturday 12th September.
Next our attention turns to acclaimed wordsmith B. Dolan appearing on Tuesday 15th September, before shining the light on alt-metal group InMe, making a tour stop on Thursday 17th September.
Blues rock twosome The Graveltones also tick off a tour date on Saturday 19th September; Welsh musician Sweet Baboo hits the venue on the 22nd and black metal institution Winterfylleth touch down on the 24th.
H Hawkline adds one of the hottest tickets in town on the 26th, supported by Welsh musician Gwenno. Piecing together off-kilter melodies that land between pop and psychedelia, H Hawkline has outed himself as one to watch with mercurial hits like 'Moons In My Mirror' above.
Liverpudlian psych trio Stealing Sheep play out the curtain closer on Wednesday 30th September, giving October plenty to live up to. Merging lush harmonies with bendy synths and complex beat tapestries, the threesome have blossomed magnificently on latest album Not Real: our golden pick.
