Following on from it's hugely successful inaugural event last year, Liverpool Disco Festival has unveiled the first wave of acts for the 2017 edition, boasting a smorgasbord of artists spanning the full spectrum of the genre and the myriad of sounds it has influenced.
The promoters behind the event, SUNcéBeat and Hustle, are bringing together not only all the best parts that made the first LDF so unique, but adding some more of the music and special touches which made the beloved Southport Weekender so well-received.
Headlining will be disco royalty D-Train, behind the immortal 'You're The One For Me', with diva Ultra Nate also performing live. Alongside that are DJ turns from Tony Humphries, who will be playing a very special four hour set spanning his iconic residency at New Jersey club Zanzibar, house and disco enthusiast par excellence Joey Negro, and legendary producer and the man behind Madonna's early rise - Jellybean Benitez.
There's further offerings from Mr Scruff, Danny Krivit, Nicky Siano and DJ Spen (who delivered an excellent disco mix for us ahead of last year's event, above). Other highlights include John Morales, Karizma, Rahaan and Graeme Park.
Once again, the musical emphasis is on showcasing the huge impact disco has had on all forms of modern dance music, from house to hip hop, as well as respecting its roots - and it's fair to say its resoundingly delivered.
