Liverpool's Threshold Festival is back!

Threshold Festival is back for 2012, bringing three heady days of music and art to Liverpool's Baltic Triangle.

Liverpool's Threshold Festival is back for 2012, and this time its bringing more bands, bigger art installations and less pigeonhole-able performances.

The weekend of February 10th - 12th 2012 will see this irrepressible young festival run amok all over the Liverpool Baltic Triangle (a change from last year's venue of the CUC), taking in several of the city's best loved venues.

The venue may be changing, but one thing that won’t be is the festival’s dedication to championing grassroots. Over the three days (and nights), an almost uncountable number of up-and-coming and/or off-kilter acts will be making appearances (and waves) in Camp and Furnace, the Blade Factory, the New Picket, Elevator, the Nordic Church, the Lantern Theatre and the Brewery Tap.

And if that’s not enough venues for you, there will also be a free fringe festival on the Sunday, just a stone’s throw away, at a little place called the Albert Dock.

Right from the start, Threshold’s ethos has been to engage with arts, music and performance promoters, and provide them with a platform to create and explore. In addition to Liverpool promoters announced as being on board – including Mellowtone, Rebel Soul, Newpath, HeadSpace, Antipop and CALM – Liverpool Sound City has now confirmed it will be programming a stage on the Saturday afternoon.

From further afield come Glastonbury, Bestival and Secret Garden Party favourites, Chai Wallahs, who will be taking the reins (or cutting them loose) on the Sunday. Also from beyond the Beatle-City boundaries, Threshold welcomes Scottish blues label Guardian Angels Records, Salford-based innovators Un-convention and alt-folk wunderkinds Imploding Inevitable Festival.
