Loopallu Festival announces NEWTON FAULKNER

The charming Scottish festival will enlist the Brit-nominated singer to headline Saturday at the Festival.

Newton Faulkner will join previously announced Friday night headliners the Enemy to dovetail the headlines slots at this year’s Loopallu festival. Renowned for his inimitable manner and virtuosity guitar playing style, Faulkner's debut album Hand Built by Robots hit the number one spot in 2007 upon release, containing the single ‘Dream Catch Me’ (below).

His fourth studio album Studio Zoo is out next Monday and has blazed a trail by being filmed ‘Truman Show’ – creating a unique access all areas insight into the recording process with unprecedented levels of fan interaction and blowing away the usual barrier put up between audiences and the recording artists. It features star turns from Ted Dwayne (Mumford & Sons) and Janet Devlin (X Factor), and has already received a level of critical approval.

There’s more bands and performers added as well, including fast rising London based exponents of soulful blues rock the temperance movement, Roddy hart & the lonesome fire, the ruen brothers and Laurence fox all playing. The festival will also be collaborating with gonorth to get behind the future stars of the Scottish dance music scene, with Scotland’s next big stars in the shape of buzz electronic act Prides, Glasgow's Blood Relatives (previously Kitty the Lion) and Fake Major.  goNORTH Director Amanda Millen provided this quote on the partnership:
