Following on from last year's 1500 sell out attendance, Loose Cannons returns for Easter Sunday with perhaps its biggest line up to date. The 20th April sees the events specialists embark on a full on mini festival, with three separate day time stages lined up to culminate in one super club after party, resulting in what will surely be one of Teeside's clubbing highlights.
Showcasing the finest from a raft of local promoters, Marquee Easter Sunday will see the party starting skills of Get Loose, riffraff and Sugarshack undertake a stage each, reflecting their unequivocal philosophies on the clubbing experience.
Get Loose head things up with one of bass music's most exciting duos - Bondax. Already favourites with the likes of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe, Bondax enjoyed a particularly busy 2013, seeing their reputation skyrocket with the strength of their live performances and unique approach to production.
They will be joined by the emerging queen of bass music, the ever popular Hannah Wants. With her sets being a reliably energetic, bass wise affair, Hannah has been hitting all the right notes and can now be considered one of the most in demand DJs working in the UK. Check out her recent mixtape on Soundcloud above for a flavour of her grooves.
Rounding off the Get Loose's stage will be Ninetoes, producer of probably the most caned record of 2013 - 'Finder' (below). Residents Joe Blackett, Jordan and Shaun Mac will be giving full support.
Riffraff, already owning a reputation as one of the North East's leading underground techno and house nights invite the master of dark house Steve Lawler to headline. With his VIVa Warriors party smashing parties everywhere from Ibiza the the USA, Steve Lawler is really at the height of his powers. Prepare for a masterclass in DJing prowess.
Hotflush techno deviants Dense & Pika will be playing one of their uncompromising dance floor primed techy workouts, whilst Zoo Project resident Lee Pennington and riffraff favourites Phillip Stirzaker, Kristopher and Millhouse round things off.
Sugarshack get things funked up and Balearic with house veterans Shapeshifters topping the bill. With more anthems in their arsenal than you can shake a stick at, the London based house duo are more adept than most at delivering pure and unadulterated feel good vibes. Lisa Millet, Soul Central, Hed Kandi stalwart John Jones and The Peverell Brothers complete Sugarshack's smooth and groovy bill.
The party then moves to clubbing bastion and home of Sugarshack Middlesbrough Empire to move things from 11pm until 4am. Get Loose invite German house hero Sidney Charles and Leeds based deep house fiend Josh Butler, whilst Riffrafff enlist 3024 records favourite Leon Vynehall (check out his EP above) to play back to back with Wolf music's Medlar. Local brand Right_on join in on the fun too with Space Ibiza residents Grant Tolley and Wally Black providing the soundtrack.
Marquee Easter Sunday is shaping yup to be an absolute feast, crammed with intelligently booked artists and decked out with unsurpassed creative skill. Essential.
