The line up for Lytham Festival's five day, genre traversing celebration of music has been unveiled.
Heading up proceedings on Wednesday 2nd August is chart topping X Factor star Olly Murs, who will kick off the festival with a hit packed set. Murs has enjoyed yet another great year commercially, scoring his fourth consecutive number one album with 24 HRS in November. He will be supported by the recently added Louisa Johnson, who won the singing competition in 2015 aged just 17, and also boasts a string of hit singles such as 'Forever Young' and 'So Good'.
Celebrating the seminal tracks that defined Manchester's rave culture is Hacienda Classical which brings the noise on Thursday 3rd August. FAC51 The Haçienda and Manchester Camerata experimental orchestra re-imagine some of the biggest dance anthems of all time to create a genuinely awe inspiring experience.
The festival's 80s and 90s mixtape party continues in 2017 with a trio of era defining greats taking to the main stage in Lytham St Annes. Delving into a back catalogue that includes 'Don't You Want Me' and 'Together In Electric Dreams' are electro pop icons Human League, whilst Ultravox man and solo singer songwriter Midge Ure also features on the Lytham Festival 2017 line up. Representing the Britpop era are Dodgy, whose main stage slot will doubtless have fans 'staying out for the summer' on Friday 4th August.
Ska icons and British institution Madness hit Lytham on Saturday 5th August with a discography that spans 40 years. This year Suggs and co conquered Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage, as well as officially opening the rebuilt Hastings pier with a massive concert.
Stars of the stage and screen will bring glitz and glamour to the final night of the festival on Sunday 6th August. A stellar cast that includes Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), Ramin Karimloo (Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera) and Claire Sweeney (Chicago) will perform the exclusively produced 'West End Proms Show', delving into a host of hits from musical theatre.
