Even if summer hasn’t been a scorcher, the My Digital Enemy trio are so hot they’d give a sun tan as soon as look at you.  With credentials as long as your ‘to pack’ list for the long haul out of here, they give every reason to stay because, quite frankly, being at the start of something huge is far more satisfying than escaping soggy Britain for an I’m-a-Celebrity-So-Spoil-Me-Rotten luxury beachside villa with complimentary wash bag.  Trust me, these guys are set for the top.  And Party Proactive at Turnmills on the 1st September is where it’s at.

Proving that, for them, three is better than one, the Brighton based Harry Diamond, Kieron McTernan and Sergei Hall have already had success with tracks reaching number 3 and 21 in the UK Nationals (Sunset Strippers, ‘Waiting for a Star to Fall’ and Lost Brothers, ‘Cry Little Sister’) and, as My Digital Enemy, they’re most definitely heading in the same direction.  With remixes for Pink and Rogue Traders, amongst others, their latest release, a dirty elektro dub of Groove Armada’s ‘Song 4 Mutya’, is being hailed as the ‘first amazing pop record of 2007’ (Popjustice.com) yet they continue to cane dance floors of clubs across the globe with their tough, melodic, electro house.  Consistently appearing in the Buzz and Cool Cut Charts supported by Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, Pete Tong and Paul Van Dyk, and with the music press pricking up their jaded ears, My Digital Enemy’s reputation is ever growing.  From an appearance for DTPM at Fabric to gigs inGermany, an up-coming tour ofBrazil and now the musical extravaganza that is Party Proactive at Turnmills, the boys are definitely on the up.

This sudden appearance on the horizon might suggest that the three have emerged from a creative cocoon fully formed but all have in fact been shaking the biz that is music for the past ten years.  And that’s music, but not as you know it.  With the words Nukleuz, Tidy Trax, Elasticman, Black Hole, Kaktai, Banging Tunes, Nick Sentience, Dogzilla, Frantic and Project Mayhem being whispered as the ghosts of recent past the MDE guys are loud and proud of their hard dance history - Kieron and Sergei being the duo that was Project Mayhem and Harry a well respected producer and co producer on many a stomper track.  Hardly surprising the trance influence and energy permeating their electro then.  A fortuitous meeting at a pub in Brighton led to the three producing Carnival, released on Nukleuz’s DJ Nation in 2003, and they haven’t looked back since.

Investing in a joint studio, now grown to three – a main and two project studios – has allowed the three to continue exploring new musical directions.  Tracks such as ‘Runaway’, ‘Storm Breaks’ and ‘Wasted’, remixes including Loose Canons’, ‘Girls in Hats’ and Bleach Eating Pimps’, ‘Mistake’, together with productions for television, film and games including a remix of Planet Funk's, ‘The Switch’, featured in Mitsubishi television adverts and the ‘Cult 45’ remix for Renaissance, licensed to Konami computer games, has seen My Digital Enemy mix commercial savvy and dance floor appreciation with a dextrous hand.  Their taking of the independent label route, consistent radio support from the likes of Judge Jules and Dave Pearce and past success in the national charts suggests they’re fully aiming at the top.  Shame the sad demise of Top of the Pops means there won’t be a repeat performance when they get there.

But you wouldn’t be getting the full technicolour glory that is Harry Diamond, Kieron McTernan and Sergei without a mention of their “breakbeat grunge rock-type band”, Machines Wealding Weapons.  Licensed to TV shows such as CSI Miami, Punk’d, the movie ‘Its All Gone Pete Tong’, the X Box 360 game ‘Full Auto’ by Sega, a Rimmel advert featuring Kate Moss for the USA and the No. 1 US TV Show, Simon Cowell’s, ‘Americas Got Talent’, Harry, Kieron and Sergei prove that talent is something they most certainly do have.  In bucket and spade loads.

You can hear My Digital Enemy perform at Party Proactive, Turnmills, London, on the 1st September 2007.
