Taking place from Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June, York Festival will make its storming debut in summer 2020, attracting some of globe's most-loved pop legends to one of the UK's most historic and charming cities.
Staged within the scenic grounds of Clifton Park, at the home of York's Rugby Union Football Club - York's Sports Club, the North Eastern borough will welcome the addition of the new, major musical event to its already busy summer schedule.
Ensuring a maiden event that won't be forgotten easily, the festival's organisers have worked hard to bring together a bill of popular, much-loved artists.
Opening the festival on Friday night, headline acts such as British ska legends Madness will be joined by 90's chart toppers The Lightning Seeds, who have recently returned to the limelight after almost 2 decades, plus there is a slot for funk and soul aficionado and DJ Craig Charles and support from upcoming, local acts Apollo Junction and Violet Contours.
Saturday will see stand out performances from the likes of multi-platinum selling, 90s girl band All Saints, English singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and indie rockers Scouting For Girls to name a few, with acclaimed, international superstar and former Commodores front man Lionel Richie confirmed to see out the event on Sunday evening.
