So you're packing up, leaving home, and setting off for three of the best years of your life at University.
But before you knuckle down to the hard graft of your chosen course, there's the lovely week long blowout known as Freshers' Week to enjoy, helping you to settle into your new city, make friends, and in all probability do some serious damage to your liver.
Manchester has one of the best nightlifes in the country, and the city's bars and clubs are laying on quite a spread for their new arrivals this month.
Here's our pick of some of the best Freshers' Week events happening in Manchester.
Official Manchester Freshers Party @ Venus
Sun 18th September
Kicking off Freshers' week in style, Manchester's biggest opening party will be at Venus, with two rooms of dancefloor smashers and great drinks offers all night. Tickets are just £5.

Hit and Run @ The Ritz
Mon 19th September
One of Manchester's most iconic venues, The Ritz has recently been taken over by HMV and treated to a lovely makeover to bring it right up to date in time for a new influx of Freshers. And one of the city's biggest student nights, Hit and Run, will call The Ritz home from September - starting with a huge Freshers Week special featuring Plastician, Cyantific, Chimpo, Rich Reason and more.

Filthy Rich @ Suede
Weds 21st September
One of Manchester's best loved student nights returns for a third year, with a new home and even more drinks offers. Now taing place every Wednesday at swanky nightspot Suede, Filthy Rich is one for all you glamour pusses out there, and launches it's 2011/2012 season with a Freshers' Special on 21st September.

Riot @ Tiger Tiger
Thurs 22nd September
Calling itself 'the nations' naughtiest student night', Riot will take place every Thursday night at Manchester's behemoth, multi room club Tiger Tiger. The night launches in Freshers Week with a sexy school disco hosted by Mistress Whiplash. She sounds nice.

Welcome to the Warehouse @ The WHP
Saturday 24th September
Not strictly a Freshers' party, but we'd hate you to miss out on this one. Manchester's biggest club event The Warehouse Project returns to its underground Store Street home for one final season this month, and Freshers Week sees Visionquest, Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss and more take to the decks for one very special night. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours now!

Cirque de Work @ The Printworks
Sunday 25th September
Roll Up, Roll up! Cirque De Work is back in town! After a massive event last year, Global Glamour present to you once again the UK's biggest bar tour. Featuring 12 DJs across six arenas, and 5000 up for it students, Cirque de Works is the biggest Freshers Party in town. Wristbands are just £10, giving you access to all six arenas until 3am.
