Liverpool’s legendary Mathew Street Festival is set to make a huge return to Merseyside, a decade on from its last edition, in a brand-new format at the city’s iconic Pier Head. Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival will take place across the August Bank Holiday weekend (Friday 23rd - Monday 26th August) and commemorates the 10 year anniversary since its previous iteration. Make sure you don’t miss out on tickets, which go on sale at 10am on Friday 1st March.

The classic Mathew Street Festival had been one of the city’s most anticipated annual parties, blossoming from a one-off event outside the Cavern Club in 1993 to one of Liverpool’s cultural cornerstones until its last edition in 2013. Thanks to the partnership between Mathew Street Festival Organisers and Liverpool Celebrates, calls to bring the event back from cancellation have finally been answered.

Now based in a centralised location at the Pier Head beneath the Liver Buildings, the event’s new format will consist of a different theme across each of its four days which will celebrate all musical eras and genres, from Liverpool and beyond. The four day event will culminate in a specially curated Cavern Club Takeover, a celebration of artists who have performed at the original Mathew Street Festival over the course of its rich history.

With the eagerly awaited lineup to be revealed soon and the event set to bring thousands of visitors to the city, Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival will be in high demand. Don’t forget to register for tickets on Skiddle now!
