Taking place right in the centre of Aberdeen, Gig In The Gardens will welcome a host of dance music giants in the most picturesque of settings - Union Terrace Gardens.
Heading up the killer line up on July 26th will be Italian techno legend Mauro Picotto. Having risen to prominence back in the nineties with classic trance meets techno workout 'Lizard', Mauro's sound has continues to shift and refine throughout the years.
Ditching the soaring euphorics in favour of pounding, kick drum heavy techno through the mid noughties, Mauro found himself increasingly in demand in the techno underground, combining elements of old italo sounds with fractured melodies into cutting edge, breathless bangers.
His most recent work has seen him explore a more stripped back approach (hear that in his most recent show for his record label Alchemy above), embarking on lean, mean structures with great effect. It's enabled him to find bucket loads of groove and expression in the process, heralding in a new phase of his technical abilities.
With a prolific run of releases on his lauded imprint, Mauro continues to be a techno favourite and a true figure head of underground techno, one well worth witnessing in action.
He will be joined by a swathe of local talent in the shape of house music specialists JERC & Rondevu (check out the soulful vibes in their track 'Missing You' above), Kev Cruickshank, Billy Lawson, Cheynie, Aaron Russell and plenty more, covering everything from modern deep house to techno.
The occasion won't just focus on dance music either, with a vast array of marquees, bars and food stalls being set up too, complementing the rave menu perfectly. Grab your Gig In The Gardens tickets here.
