Melanie Pain mixes genres as well as languages within her music. With lo-fi vocals, classical piano juxtaposed with electronic elements, and a blend of both English and French lyrics, Pain's sound is quirky and different, making it perfect for fans of The Velvet Underground and especially those enamoured by their collaborator Nico.
After two albums, her 2009 release My Name and Bye Bye Manchester in 2013, Pain worked closely with musical mastermind Gael Rakotondrabe on her third and most recent release Parachute. She comes to the UK to display the unique creativity of her stripped down and raw sound.

Parachute offers a darker, more intense version of the singer, with electronic, elongated minor notes sinking below Pain's Bridget Bardot style charm within her vocals. With personal themes of fear and sombre emotions appearing throughout the album - although this may go unnoticed as it's beautifully sung entirely in French.
