Liverpool's laid back acoustic connoisseurs Mellowtone are set for an, almost, wild ride during the remainder of May, with three showcases bringing together their distinct brand of acoustic music and folk. We run the rule over them here.
After the success of his latest album The Ballads Of Peckham Rye, Ross Wilson AKA Blue Rose Code is set to return to Liverpool on 14th May in the charming Leaf, showcasing tracks from the opus alongside debut release North Ten (stream below on Spotfy).
With features on Radio 2, Radio 4 and XFM to name but a few, the singer songwriter can call upon an ever growing fan base. His last appearance drew great acclaim, ensuring the likelihood of another truly breath-taking show in the intimate environs of the Bold Street venue's upstairs space. Grab tickets here.
The Palm House has always been a special place, hosting a number of incredible gigs in its one of a kind environment over the years. So when Mellowtone and The Viper get hold of it for a collaborative night - and for no less reason that to celebrate The Viper Label's 100th release - it is set to be a very special party indeed.
No one really knows what will happen and what is planned however the heavy speculation around the ‘special guests’ of the evening, strong hints towards some very eye popping names that have played a part in the label over the century of releases. One thing we do know for sure is that the £10 entry also includes a copy of the ‘Viper 100’ release, making this event incredible value for any music lover in the city. Tickets here.
The cult band from Manchester ‘I am Kloot’ formed in 1999 and have continued to build a devoted legion of followers since day one, cracking the UK top[ ten of the singles chart in the process. John Bramwell (The band's songwriter and vocalist) is currently touring solo, and is coming to Liverpool, where he will play Kazimier on Saturday 17th May.
His solo album ‘John Bramwell –Live At the Trade’ is only available for purchase on the tour, whilst 2012's EP You, me and the Alarm Clock you can stream above. Tickets here.
