As far as online music festivals go, this is a whopper!

With over 850 artists across 65 stages, Electric Blockaloo is gearing up to become the 'biggest digital music festival in history'.

Taking place from June 25-28 within the Minecraft video game, acts confirmed so far include Todd Terry, Steve Aoki, Blondish, Maya Janes Coles, Rudimental, Jamie JonesAnabel Englund, Seth Troxler, Skream and hundreds more.

Electric Blockaloo will be available on both desktop and mobile versions of the game, with those unfamiliar with Minecraft able to access a training camp in the run up to the festival, learning how to play and navigate the game.

Festival-goers will be given 'free range of the grounds' and able to hop between stages - which have been designed by the artists and labels - using replicas of the famed blue Doctor Who Tardis.

Tickets for the festival are priced at $10, while $15 will gain you VIP access (yes VIP is even a thing in virtual-land) to 'exclusive worlds, stages and artist sets'. There's even camping, with 'Loozers' (festival-goers) able to build their own campsites and win prizes. No word yet on the virtual bogs.

The festival has partnered with various organisations that festival-goers can donate to and support, including Black Lives Matter, The Bail Project (a national fund aimed at preventing incarceration and combating racial and economic disparities in the bail system) and ByeByePlastic, a movement to remove single use plastics from the music industry as a whole by 2025.

Electric Blockaloo is not the first music event to be held live within a video game. Earlier this year, Fortnite hosted concerts by both Travis Scott and Diplo.
