Saturday 24th September we headed over to Mint Festival up in Leeds which was running for its fifh year. This time round the festival was hosted in the unique art deco headquarters of The Tetley gallery complex, and very excitingly an incredible and varied all-star list of DJs would be making a welcome appearance from across five different stages.

The top of the bill included techno royalty Adam Beyer, house favourite Jamie Jones and Yorkshire's very own house DJ and producer Hot Since 82. And headlining yet another festival this summer was the multi-talented singer, songwriter and rapper Craig David presenting his TS5 party.

On arrival, there was an eye-wateringly long queue snaking around the venue. It was going to be a big one for sure! It was already teeming when we eventually arrived in, and there was a busy and exciting bustle amongst the place. We made a beeline for the jam-packed Knee Deep in Leeds tent and managed to swerve our way to the front for a set from DJ Kerri Chandler whose soul-infused deep house and future house beats made for a great start to the day.

Next up was Bristol-born DJ Eats Everything in the Elrow tent, which was decorated in a psychedelic theme complete with neon flowers hung up, cannon bursts of confetti and balloons and inflatables being thrown around the crowds. The thumping house tunes combined with bass, techno and jungle alongside the incredible visuals and atmosphere really made it a set to remember.

Back to the Knee Deep in Leeds tent and it was time to catch Hot Since 82, our personal highlight of the night. Elbowing our way to the front once again, we were treated to an energetic set from the deep house and tech house DJ. His posse behind the decks seemed equally enthusiastic as the man himself, raving away with us throughout the whole set to hits including ‘Veins’.

Not wanting to miss out on Jamie Jones’ slot in the elrow tent, we head back over to catch the second half of it, where he tore the place apart with his deep house and tech house tunes, yet another highlight of the festival. Completely elevated and enthralled from our night, we left the venue on a high and eagerly carried on to the system. after party nearby at Mint club to carry on with our night.

We had a truly fantastic time with Mint and were dazzled with the fantastic sets from some world-class DJs who pulled out all the stops for their fans. Until next time Mint.
