The Monegros Desert Festival has, since its birth in the 90’s, grown from simply a crazy idea to one of Spain’s largest events of the year. With a stellar lineup already announced for this years festival, Monegros looks to cement its status as the dance music event of Spain’s year by inviting yet more world beating acts out into the desert for an unparalleled 22 hour rave up.

First of the new announcements is none other than dubstep, drum n bass, and EDM giants Nero. Very much at the forefront of the crossover dance music scene, Nero scored a number one album hit with ‘Welcome Reality’ back in 2011 and then this year winning a grammy along with Skrillex for their remix of ‘Promises’. With breathtaking performance at festivals such as Pukkelpop, Electric Daisy Carnival and V Festival, the duo are no stranger to the big stage - their appearance at Monegros is eagerly anticipated.

Next up is Tale Of Us. The two Italians have become hot property since relocating to Berlin. A slew of well received releases and remixes on labels like Crosstown Rebels, Visionquest and Cocoon have gained them notoriety for an incredibly varied and original fusing of genres, drawing from pop to house, nu/disco to rock with everything in between.

Monegros also announce a staggering line up of techno for the four to the floor purists. Some of the major players lighting up the desert dance floor will be the likes of Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Ben Sims and local hero Oscar Mulero. The sound of classic techno from these guys will juxtaposition nicely against the likes of Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann and the legendary Richie Hawtin amongst others.

And finally, reprising for the 3rd year in a row will be the much loved Open Air Stage - breeding ground for all manner of creative carnage. Starring Luciano and Barcelona party starters Elrow, expect a rip roaring barrage of house, minimal and techno, accompanied by toys, inflatables and party costumes.

Spain’s favourite one day electronic music extravaganza is looking like retaining its ‘biggest rave in the country’ mantle once again.
