Morrissey has denied there is any truth in the rumours that his former band The Smiths will reform after a verified Twitter account was set up for the seminal indie band.
Speculation grew after the new account appeared on April 6 with fans rushing to follow what was described as the "official Twitter for The Smiths".
A post released on the Morrissey fansite, True To You said: "A Smiths / Morrissey Google alerts / Twitter account has been opened by Warner UK. Morrissey would like to stress that this account has not been sancyioned by him and has no connection to him. Follow it at your peril."
The account itself later confirmed that Tweets from the feed will be sent out by Warners.
Please note this account is purely to celebrate the history and the music of The Smiths.
