Motion hit up the infamous Magnet venue for the beginning of their summer season on July 5th, which sees the faultless Liverpool rave exponents entice a belting line up that will have underground house and techno fiends frothing with excitement.
Heading up proceedings will be one of Visionquest's most impressive talents, and one of the most unique voices working in electronic music at the moment - Dinky.
Having released work crossing almost the entire sonic spectrum of dance music, labels like Otsgut Ton, Vakant, Wagon repair and Cocoon have all snapped up her exquisitely lush productions since breaking into the scene at the turn of the century.
14 years on and Dinky's work has continued to become ever more singular, employing her own ethereal vocal presence alongside otherworldly ambient textures and restrained beat placement with critically lauded results (hear that in her most recent record 'Xanex' above), whilst her DJ sets showcase everything ranging from upfront techno to grooving house, atmospheric disco to subdued deep house.
Joining her will be a live set from Liverpool based acid house and techno don John Heckle, whose peerless work for labels like MOS and Tabernacle have seen his rough, rugged, casually distorted analogue sound become some of the most sought after in the hardware wielding techno environment.
His live set will be a killer display of clattering, red lining drum flutters, meaty bass tones, decayed acid licks and off kilter synth work, as can be heard in his recent release for ASOK's cracking Scenery imprint (above). Grab your Motion tickets here.
