Good morning, and welcome back to New On Skiddle! Now it’s March, we’re a sixth of the way into 2024. Mad how fast the time passes, right? But that’s a good thing because that means we’re just getting closer and closer to festival and Ibiza season!
As such, we’ve got loads of festivals this week, including Back By Dope Deamnd’s first outdoor fest, the return of Mathew Street Festival, the nostalgic Clubland Weekender, country heaven The Long Road Festival, house and techno bash PLTFRM, the multi-genre T Live, and Margate Reggae fest with some massive names.
As well as them, we’ve got raves with Andy Whitby, Amelie Lens, David Morales, Simon Doty, Underworld, and Jon Mancini & Michael Kilkie.

Pressplay Presents David Morales @ 24 Kitchen Street

Where: 24 Kitchen Street in Liverpool
House music icon David Morales comes to one of the best clubs in Liverpool in April, supported by Dan Skinner and Claudio Rampling.
The up-and-coming Liverpool events brand Press Play, which celebrates house music in all its forms, brings the legend for an intimate, extended set at the venue, to the delight of house fans who’ve been eagerly awaiting his return to Liverpool.
This one runs from 10pm until 4am, offering a rare chance to get up close with one of the biggest names to come out of house music.

Liverpool Celebrates presents Mathew Street Festival
When: Friday 23rd - Monday 26th August 2024 (bank holiday weekend)
Mathew Street Festival makes a triumphant return following a decade-long break, and it looks like the team behind it lives by the philosophy of “go big or go home.”
Boasting a massive lineup featuring The Jacksons, Holly Johnson, Lightning Seeds, N-Trance, Boyzlife, and China Crisis, it’s going to be a fantastic weekend. Add to that loads of the best tributes to some of the most adored names in pop and rock including Queen, Adele, Oasis, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, and many more, and there’s something for most music fans.

Electric Dreams feat. Jon Mancini & Michael Kilkie
When: Sunday 26th May 2024 (bank holiday weekend)
Where: Red Sky Bar in Glasgow
Following its sold-out NYE party with a similar vibe, Electric Dreams returns, bringing Jon Mancini & Michael Kilkie along after they smashed it at the beginning of the year.
This bank holiday all-dayer kicks off at 2pm and takes ravers up to midnight with Jon Mancini & Michael Kilkie featuring a live PA from Heather Kane, getting everyone giddy with her unbeatable vocals through the set.
Over in Trash Disco, there'll be Kevin Green & Gary Nicol, while Room Two Tunnel brings Stephen Lee & Kevin McFarlane, finally, there'll be support from Willie Bradley & Tony Moran. Loads of Scottish talent are on the decks for this one that brings old skool, house, disco, rave, and acid house from across the decades.

Andy Whitby & Friends - Glasgow
When: Saturday 11th May 2024
Where: The Classic Grand in Glasgow
King of bounce Andy Whitby returns to one of Glasgow’s best clubs after the success of the event in December.
Alongside bounce, there’ll be hardcore and hard dance tunes flowing at this one, which kicks off at 10pm and runs until 1:30am. The full lineup for Andy Whitby & Friends will be announced soon. But as these shows have already proven, it’s going to be unreal. Especially with DJ veteran Andy Whitby on the decks!

Skyline ft. Simon Doty, Jody Wisternoff & more
When: Sunday 23rd June 2024
Where: Red Sky Bar in Glasgow
Skyline returns to the glass box in the sky with a belting lineup of international DJs in June, gifting Glaswegian music fanatics with a deep and prog house evening.
Simon Doty, Jody Wisternoff, Weird Sounding Dude, and Martin Roth provide us with the tunes here, which will cover deep and prog house with some other genres splashed in for extra colour.
Keeping their events fresh, this will be a Skyline debut for Weird Sounding Dude and Martin Roth, with WSD hailing from India, and Roth from Germany. Always bringing the best new artists to the Sky Bar, if you love discovering the hottest up-and-comers, secure your tickets below.

Where: Secret Location Manchester Event Space in Manchester
Manchester's longest-running club classics event Back By Dope Demand makes history in June with its first outdoor festival!
From 1pm until 10:30pm, this all-day rave in a secret outdoor location, which will be revealed soon, brings three stages of music: one for old skool, one for dance classics, and bouncy house. Going down in the summertime, we’ve got our fingers crossed for a scorcher!
Early bird tickets are an absolute steal for just £15. And if you’re a bit of a party animal, you can grab afterparty tickets too, which will keep those good vibes going until 4am - venue to be announced soon.

Where: Stanford Hall in Leicestershire
The UK’s best country, Americana, and roots music festival returns in 2024 for its fourth year.
The first names for The Long Road have been announced, which include Russell Dickerson, Colbie Caillat, Gina Larner, Brown Horse, Chapel Hart, Brittney Spender, American Aquarium, Wyatt Flores, Remember Monday, and many more, with music spread across five stages.
Loads more than just music, the fest creates incredible experiences for all with a kids’ area, a classic car show, artisan crafts, wellbeing workshops, dance classes, Sounds Familiar Music Quiz, eating competitions, a dog show, country karaoke, and artist signings. Basically, it’s as good as impossible to be bored at The Long Road.

Where: Winter Gardens in Blackpool
Making its glorious return to Blaskpool’s Winter Gardens this autumn, Clubland Weekender offers a massive lineup, with music spread across two nights plus an afterparty hosted by I Am A Raver included in your ticket.
Cascada, Basshunter, Billy Gillies, Ultrabeat, Flip N Fill, Kelly Llorenna, KIMMIC, David Rust, Shugz, and many more fill a stacked lineup packed with nostalgic sounds of various genres, including trance, dance, and club classics.

Julien Marley and The Uprising, Steel Pulse, Aswad, The Skints, Dawn Penn, General Levy, and more come to Margate’s Dreamland this summer.
These massive names and more will be spread across three stages at this bash that runs from 2pm until 11pm. Boosting that summery vibe, the fest will be complete with a rum shack and Jamaican food.
Set to be one of the best reggae festivals this year, especially with tickets at such a reasonable price, we recommend grabbing your tickets for this one while you can.

Where: Copthall Playing Fields in London
London’s best R&B festival returns at the peak of the English summer with another brilliant multi-genre lineup.
Rick Ross, Joe, Tyga, Jeremih, Soul 4 Real, General Levy, Marvin Humes, and many more, for a total of over seventy artists, will head over to the capital for a day full of sunshine R&B, hip-hop, pop, bass music, and more. Spread across six different arenas, this will be the fest’s biggest edition to date.

Where: Brighton Beach in Brighton
On The Beach Brighton’s latest show sees dance music titans Underworld headline the sunny summer day fest with an incredible little army of support acts.
Joining the legendary ‘Born Slippy’ duo are Mall Grab, Eats Everything, Chloe Robinson, Boys Noize, 2ManyDJs, Emerald, and Fall Forward. Massive! The OTB series is looking to be up there with the best outdoor raves and gigs this year.

Where: The Underground in Bristol
Techno titan Amelie Lens comes to Bristol for a special one-off event at an underground loading bay in the city’s centre.
Known for massive tunes like ‘Follow’, ‘In Silence’, ‘Feel It’, ‘You & Me’, and loads more, the Belgian DJ and producer has stolen many techno fans’ hearts with her atmospheric sound.
Going down on a May bank holiday weekend, Lens brings some special guests along to perform to a buzzing crowd at this show, which runs from 9pm until 4am.
