Oi, oi! It’s New On Skiddle yet again, the feature where we help you find your next big adventure by showing you some of the new events we’ve added in the past week.
This week, we’ve got some scorchers including Ben Hemsley’s biggest headline show to date, exhibitions, plenty of festivals (it’s festival season, baby!), raves, Ministry Of Sound Classical, and Paolo Nutini’s only (at the time of writing) English gig this year.

Experts in sound, movement, technology, space, and scale, Squidsoup, are hosting their first light exhibition at Propyard in Bristol.
The geniuses behind Four Tet’s pioneering Ally Pally light show are known globally for their incredible ability to evoke deep emotional responses with their immersive experiences. Bringing the show to Bristol for almost an entire month, with both morning and afternoon slots, this is an opportunity to explore another stunning universe crafted by the best in the game.
Squidsoup urges attendees to take a moment to shut out from the real world before allowing their exhibit to take them on a journey through light, sound, and space with their art.

House Masters [One More Dance]

Where: Middlesbrough Town Hall in Middlesbrough
Cheeky House Masters day festival, anyone? With techno and house including acid house, disco house, and old skool, this’ll be a blast.
House Masters, rooted in house, disco, and classic house tracks, hosts events and festivals to spread the best tunes to eager music fans. This one in Middlesbrough is an open-air shindig with street food, outdoor bars, a huge lineup (TBA), and festival production.
Going down at the back end of festival season, it’s the perfect (and very affordable) way to squeeze in one last bash as our favourite festivals hibernate for the winter again.

Ben Hemsley - Biggest Newcastle Show to Date: Venue TBA!
When: Saturday 14th October 2023
Where: VENUE TBA in Newcastle-upon-Tyne
A homecoming gig for one of the biggest UK DJs right now, obviously this is going to be next level.
With an insanely busy year ahead of him, Ben Hemsley will be polishing off countless festivals in the UK and across the globe, kicking off his first Ibiza residency, and then coming home for a biggun in Newcastle.
This will be the young star’s biggest headline show to date and we expect just about every raver in Newcastle will be there. With a few other ravers from the north making the pilgrimage to see the trance/house icon too, of course.

Teletech: DJ Daddy Trance, Funk Tribu, Lucia Lu, Baugruppe90
When: Friday 15th September 2023
Where: Hidden in Manchester
Teletech is a well-known events brand from Manchester, recognised for its carefree techno events with international DJs. This time, they’re throwing a trance bash!
Alongside those names listed above, there's The Muffin Man (incredible name, by the way), and Billy Does. and it’s all going down in one of Manchester’s best clubs, Hidden. Hidden is a must for those who love nothing but tunes. A bit stylishly run down, simple, and industrial, it’s the perfect setting for a sweaty rave, if you ask us. (As a Manc, I’d say it’s my fave Manc venue altogether.)

Bohemian Disco Gospel Sessions
When: Saturday 16th September 2023
Where: Chester Cathedral in Chester
Following two sold-out festivals, Bohemian Disco Gospel Sessions returns to Chester to make you sing, dance, and feel good.
Bohemian Disco is a record label, disco gospel choir, and soulful, disco, funky, uplifting house event. This September, they’re transforming the gorgeous Chester Cathedral to bring music fans an evening of disco and house classics hosted by The Bohemian Disco Choir.
For this one that runs from 7 pm until midnight, there’s Geddes, Jason Herd, Lisa Millett, Gioia, and of course Bohemian Disco Choir.
Full of positive, feel-good vibes, it’s going to be absolutely unreal.

When: Saturday 8th July 2023
Where: Stanmer Park in Brighton
His only announced English date of 2023 so far, Paolo Nutini will play an open-air summer gig in Brighton with some incredible support.
Joining the New Shoes and Iron Skies singer is Peace, The Big Moon, English Teacher, and Gemma Rodgers as part of the Brighton Valley Festival series. Nutini, known as one of Scotland’s biggest exports who explores genres including soul, folk, rock, alternative, indie and more, has discography packed with many bangers you’ll recognise.
Tickets went on sale last Friday and are already flying out. If you fancy Nutini’s only announced English date (at the time of writing), secure your tickets below.

Ministry Of Sound Classical Festival
When: Friday 25th August 2023
Where: Beacon Park in Lichfield
All your favourite electronic anthems played by an orchestra? You know it’s going to be pure heaven.
Ministry Of Sound needs no introduction, having been at the forefront of the clubbing scene before many of us were even born. Taking the brand to new heights, MOS is putting on a day festival in Lichfield, with an orchestra playing electronic belters including Hey Boy Hey Girl, Right Here, Right Now, Insomnia, and many, many more.
Alongside magical tunes by a 31-piece orchestra, there’ll be headline DJs to be announced, food traders, fairground rides, and the production and sound you’d expect for an event of this size.
Sign up for tickets below for pre-sale access on Thursday 25th May at 10 am. Or take your chances with the general sale on Friday at 10. But we’ll warn you, tickets aren’t expected to last long.

Where: Orrell Hill Woods in Liverpool
Back again for another belting techno and DnB forest festival, One in the Woods boasts a delicious lineup in a remote location.
Easily one of the best festivals in Liverpool OITW has another stacked lineup including FJAAK, Goldie, Paula Temple, Fabio & Grooverider, Shanti Celeste, Joy Orbison, Pola & Bryson, and so many others. Deep in the woods, you can expect tall, towering trees as the bass rumbles the ground beneath you.
Head over to enjoy 80 artists, local food and drink, and more in a paradise setting where you can let go of all your troubles.

Cultivate Festival: Fall Edition

Where: 1A Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen
After wrapping up their summer edition on Saturday 13th May, Cultivate is back again with a techno, deep house, tech house, disco house, and bass lineup for autumn.
Ready for an absolutely wild September bank holiday weekend, Aberdeen (and the festivals devotees from all over) will once again be treated to a stunning weekend of the best tunes by some absolutely incredible names from across the electronic spectrum. Confirmed for autumn so far are blk., D.O.D, Sara Landry, and Creeds.
If you’re unfamiliar with the fest, it’s one of Scotland’s best and its summer edition featured 9x9, Charlie Sparks, Franck, Hannah Laing, testpress, TAAHLIAH, and so many other incredible names. You can expect much of the same vibes in September.
