This Friday marks four weeks until Highest Point Festival! Not only is it a brilliant little fest but, as one of the earliest festivals in the year, it marks the start of festival season 2024. And if you’re wondering whether we’ll ever stop talking about festival season, the answer is no. Never. We can’t wait!
In the meantime, if you’re looking for some cracking new events, you’re in the right place.
Some of what we’ve got this week includes a UKG car park rave with Badger, a foodie festival with live music and kids' entertainment, 90s and 00s events with Vengaboys, a Deja vu Reunion, an incredible established festival that’s moving to the beach, Italian power duo Giolì & Assia, Big Fat Rave’s annual 12-hour BBQ party, and a free party with Jax Jones.
Yes, it’s another glorious New On Skiddle, you’re very welcome. So take a look at these new events and free up your calendars to squeeze in some thrills.

Where: The Boxing Gym in Bristol
Rave on Avon returns, spreading a lineup of house, techno, hard house, drum and bass, and jungle across two venues: The Boxing Gym (one of the city’s newest venues) and Lost Horizon.
The Boxing Gym will be the home to the event’s DnB sounds, powered by the massive Firmly Rooted Soundsystem, seeing sets from DJ Storm, Addison Groove, Gallegos (90s DnB set), and more. Over at Lost Horizon, there’ll be sets from Dani Whylie, DJ Fiat 500, Eminent Boys, Thrilogy, Charli EQ, and more.

Electrikal Sound System: Summer UKG Car Park Rave
When: Saturday 27th - Sunday 28th July 2024
Where: Malcom X Community Centre in Bristol
Electrikal Sound System brings huge UKG parties with incredible DJs, music, art, and more to the Malcolm X Centre this summer.
If that wasn’t already cool enough, the lineup for this one is a proper stunner. Badger, Jackum, Soulecta, Tommy Villiers, Electrikal Sound, Esme Banks, and Bad Bitch Dubz bring the tunes which, of course, will be UKG, speed garage, and bassline.
There'll also be two covered bars and a jerk chicken stall. All combo tickets grant you free entry to the afterparty with Ben Suff Donk, a takeover from Duckland, and Demetria B2B Enchantress.

Where: The Downs Bristol in Bristol
Foodies in Bristol, you're going to love this one. Feast On brings the best of Bristol’s restaurants, traders, and drink producers to showcase their signature dishes and drinks, covering classic staples to inspired new flavours.
More than just some of the city’s best food, there will also be live cooking demos, wine tastings, food sustainability talks, live music to set the scene, a friendly, communal banqueting area, and family-friendly spots to keep the kids entertained, too.

Where: Newcastle, Aberdeen, Leeds, and Hull
Kubix, known for being the northeast’s favourite 90s and 00s festival, is going on tour, bringing those throwback dance and pop sounds to the north of England and Aberdeen in winter.
Bringing Vengaboys, Five, 911, 2 Unlimited, East 17, Ultrabeat, N-Trance, Flip N Fill, Alice Deejay, The Outhere Brothers, and more across the shows, Kubix brings nostalgia to incredible venues Utilita Arena, P&J Live, First Direct Arena, and Connexin Live.
Spreading the love further than the festival’s home of Sunderland, it’s the perfect opportunity for those who live further afield to enjoy a slice of the festival a bit closer to home.

Where: LAB11 in Birmingham
Head honcho of Birmingham-based record label and party WYLD Ryan Resso comes to LAB11, one of the city’s best clubs, for his first-ever all-night-long set.
Heading up the WYLD crew, you can expect Resso to cover the music the parties are known for, meaning you’re in for plenty of house, deep house, and tech house.

BFR Presents: Big Fat BBQ Party 2024
When: Saturday 4th May 2024
Where: The Grove Newcastle in Newcastle
Big Fat Rave's annual BBQ party returns, truly marking the beginning of summery vibes and shenanigans (even if it isn't actually summer yet).
Running from 2pm until 2am, the BFR BBQ promises a "big scran and rave session all day and night" which is most definitely speaking our language! The barbecue rave goes down at an old factory that was recently turned into an event space with two indoor dance floors, one outdoors, a roof terrace, and a courtyard.
Food is served up by LEVS, gifting ravers authentic Caribbean scran that’ll give you the energy to keep the party going strong from start to finish.

Giolì & Assia: Resurrection Tour Manchester
When: Wednesday 13th November 2024
Where: New Century in Manchester
Italian producers, multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, singers, label owners, and DJs Giolì & Assia bring their Resurrection tour to Manchester in November.
Having cultivated their creative vision and sound for almost a decade, the couple have crafted their somewhat cinematic sound, which blends elements of house, techno, indie, and pop.
Both being multi-instrumentalists, their music incorporates a variety of instruments including handpan drums, guitar, cello, and piano, which Giolì also plays on stage.
Lush, emotive, and otherworldly but also often danceable, Giolì & Assia are a fascinating duo with music you want to live inside.

Cultivate: Beach Links Festival
When: Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd September, 2024
Where: Beach Links in Aberdeen
Bringing house, techno, UKG, brilliant production, fairground rides, street food, and more to the beach in September, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Cultivate: Beach Links.
Those already confirmed to be performing at this year’s festival include some pretty big names such as KETTAMA, Partiboi69, Franck, KIMMIC, Parsa Nani, Mark Blair, and Van Damn. But there will also be a fair few emerging artists including All Night Passion, Archie Holmes, Babyccino, Kintra, milkgirl, SWATT Team, and tedzx.
With the lineup already looking fab and with two more lineup announcements on the way, Cultivate: Beach Links will certainly be a highlight among this year’s Scottish festivals.

Deja vu Reunion feat a very special line up to be announced

Where: The Piper Club in Hull
Coming to The Piper Club on a bank holiday weekend, Deja vu is back with another Reunion event.
We don’t have the lineup for this one just yet but the team behind it have promised the biggest old-school reunion yet with a huge lineup. And since the last Deja vu Reunion event brought house legends including K-Klass, Allister Whitehead, Tom Wainwright, Rowetta, Danny Hird, and more, you can definitely trust them to deliver another brilliant lineup.
