Festivals, festivals and more festivals. Yes, it's that exciting time of year, when our favourite open-air events give us the first glimpses at the talents set to entertain us through the spring and summer months. And naturally, with there being so many announcements over recent days, this week's New On Skiddle is packed full of mindblowing festival spectaculars! All, of course, with tickets now available to buy.
From the second-ever edition of Creamfields South to Hastings Reggae Festival and the 25th anniversary of the Dundee Dance Event, there's no shortage of festivals to choose from among this week's top picks, with a few extraordinary one-off parties thrown in for good measure. Otherlands Music & Arts Festival
When: Friday 11th - Sunday 13th August 2023
Where: Scone Palace in Perth
Otherlands Music & Arts Festival will take control of the grounds of Scone Palace, a listed historic house near the city of Perth, for another all-out three-day camping experience, boasting the very best in music, art and culture.
Performing across five epic stages, festival revellers in attendance this August will be blown away by figureheads of the electronic scene including UK club/garage duo Overmono, Grammy-nominated producer and DJ, Hudson Mohawke, with his only Scottish date of the year, beloved father-daughter team Floorplan, DJ HAAi, KiNK (Live), Nia Archives and more.
Also featuring on the eclectic programme, Glaswegian post-punks VLURE, award-winning breakthrough hip hop artist Bemz, indie pop six-piece Parliamo and alt-pop duo, Love Sick, to name but a few.
Presented by the team of seasoned promoters behind FLY, Otherlands Music & Arts offers an immersive festival experience with a variety of alternative experiences also to be found - from yoga and meditation sessions to comedy acts, talks from industry leaders and hands-on DJ workshops.

On The Beach - Day Three with Eric Prydz
When: Sunday 23rd July 2023
Where: Brighton Beach in Brighton
On The Beach heads back to Brighton this July for two gobsmacking weekends of live dance music upon the golden sandy shores of Southern England.
Headlining day three of the popular event series is non-other than internationally renowned 'Holoshphere' originator, Eric Prydz. Bringing an arsenal of charting club tracks with him - from 'Pjanoo' and 'Call On Me' to more recent anthems such as 'Opus' - the French DJ and producer will have ravers giving it their all in front of an inimitable and mesmerising visual light show.
Joining the legendary dance talent on the frankly ridiculous lineup are the likes of Adam Beyer of Drumcode, Kolsch, Cristoph and Eli & Fur.

The countdown to festival season 2023 is officially underway as Creamfields South announces its biggest lineup to date for this year's highly anticipated second edition, set to run over the late May Bank Holiday weekend (Friday 26th - Sunday 28th May 2023).
Delivering live performances from an exhaustive list of internationally acclaimed DJ talents, those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets can expect to see the likes of Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia and Tiësto, all performing exclusive UK shows, with Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, Ben Hemsley, Camelphat, Fatboy Slim, Andy C, Chase & Status and Annie Mac also on the bill (See the flyer above for more names).
Topping off what looks to be a festival highlight for dance fans, the Creamfields team have announced that the iconic Arc Stage will also make its debut in the south this summer, with the Runway Stage by Shein being taken over by two of the scene's biggest record labels - Patrick Topping's Trick and Jamie Jones' Paradise.

90s Baby Pop - The biggest POP show EVER

Where: AO Arena in Manchester
The incredible team at 90s Baby have announced a special evening of live music for all the super fans of the pop. The immersive old-school experience is back on Saturday 28th October, returning once again to Manchesters AO Arena for a night filled with nostalgic cheese of the best variety.
This supersized celebration will line up all the biggest and best acts from the decade, including Blue, Peter Andre, Five, Right Said Fred, Amelia, Samantha Mumba, Culture Beat, Ultra Nate, Snap!, Sonique, Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud, Haddaway, Boyzlife, Rednex, Kosheen, Baby D, Lolly, Blazin Squad, Sweet Female Attitude, Livin Joy and more.

Festival Republic presents Kygo plus special guests
When: Saturday 12th August 2023
Where: Gunnersbury Park in London
Forward-thinking producer and international superstar DJ, Kygo has announced he will play his biggest-ever UK headline show to date at London’s Gunnersbury Park this summer.
The serial hitmaker behind club anthems ‘It Aint Me’ and ‘Higher Love' will celebrate the successes of his latest album release, Thrill Of The Chase, with thousands of dance fans in the green heart of the English capital. Joining him on stage across the day, a bill of notable support acts including house legend MK, dynamic dance music duo Sofi Tukker, and Toronto EDM DJ Frank Walker will see that the party goes off with a bang. A score of celebrated reggae acts will perform in front of thousands of eager music fans during the peak of the British summer, at the Hastings Reggae Festival this July.
Brummie legends UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will perform some of their biggest hits, including 'Red Red Wine' and 'Kingston Town', whilst the 'Incredible' General Levy brings the energy, with a setlist stocked full of well-known anthems. A list of upcoming talents and renowned tribute acts, including Hollie Cook of The Slits, Reggae Roast with Natty Campbell MC, and the Bob Marley Revival have also been confirmed to ensure vibes are aplenty on the day.
An enormous main stage, boasting the best in sound and light production, will provide the platform for the festival's lineup of acts. In between performances, guests will be lured to the irresistible scent of Caribbean food from an array of authentic vendors dotted around the event space.

MVSON Collective - All Day Long at Victoria Baths

Where: Victoria Baths in Manchester
Manchester outfit, the MVSON Collective will fill the empty swimming pools at Chorlton's Victoria Baths with unrelenting club bangers this April, as they host an 'All Day Long' Bank Holiday special at the former Edwardian leisure complex.
The special hometown show will see the dynamic trio, made up of members Blair Suarez, Adam Myles and Omar Guedar, displaying their skills behind the decks. Their explosive DJ sets and wild underground parties have become the stuff of legends, especially in Northern England, gaining them slots at some of the most sought-after events in Europe - from Parklife, Creamfields and Manchester's The Warehouse Project to distant sunbathed soirees including Barcelona's Sonar and Croatia's Hideout Festival.

Tickets for MVSON Collective - All Day Long at Victoria Baths

The undisputed king of DJ culture, Paul Oakenfold has confirmed his return to the city where it all began, to perform at a brand new venue space, Liverpool's Grand Central Hall.
A world-famous authority on mixing and mastering, born in the East End of London in 1963, Oakenfold is still a name that's still held in high regard both by the dance community and his DJ Peers. A once-in-a-generation talent whose list of accomplishments is entirely too long to mention, he's perhaps the most decorated and influential electronic artist of all time.
First making a name for himself back in the 90s, he honed his now sought-after skills behind the decks at the famed Liverpool superclub, Cream, defining a sound that would later infiltrate clubs the world over. Fast forward three decades and he's back at the birthplace of his illustrious career to warm the Liverpool dance contingent once more. An inescapable legacy continued.

OrchestRAM at The Barbican: An orchestral journey into drum & bass

Where: Barbican in London
The Guildhall Session Orchestra link up with Andy C's revered imprint, RAM Records once more, for yet another outstanding night of renditions of some of the label's biggest releases from its most defining artists - the likes of Chase & Status, Wilkinson, Sub Focus, Origin Unknown and DJ Fresh.
Said to be the highlight performance of RAM Records' 30th-anniversary celebrations in September 2022, the sublime orchestra ensemble, made up of professional alumni from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, will perform a special updated version of last year's sell-out shows at London's world-famous Barbican for one night only this March.
For all those who missed out on this spellbinding crossover experience last year, here's your chance to witness an even bigger offering this spring. An unforgettable night of drum n bass as you've never heard it before awaits.

Marking a milestone occasion in 2023, the Dundee Dance Event will look back on 25 years of remarkable events since its first outing back in 1999, with a special quarter-century celebration featuring a score of established and fast-rising talents.
The one-day spectacle will boast world-class performances across 29 different venues, with 200 DJs and electronic artists billed to bring the vibes. Supplying a variety of different styles throughout the day - from house and techno to trance and old skool - punters will be spoilt for choice, with headline sets coming from two of the most hyped names in UK dance at present, Dundee's 'Queen of House' Hannah Laing and Geordie legend, Schak.
An after-hours party at Fat Sams (Aura Nightclub) will close out the 2023 instalment, with three floors and six rooms dedicated to the best in dance.

Where: Tredegar Park in Newport
Don your whitest items of clothing and head to one of Europe's most colourful music events this July - Tredegar Park's Colour Clash Festival.
Returning to Newport this summer, the event, which sees thousands of dance fans coming together to rave in front of trailblazing icons of the UK music scene whilst chucking colourful powder over one another, looks to be going bigger than ever before in 2023. Confirmed to bring the heat across the day-long festival are notable names including Bugzy Malone, hardstyle enthusiasts, DJs Ben Nicky and Darren Styles, Ultrabeat, LUUDE, UK Garage heroes DJ Luck & MC Neat, and many more.
A total of three stages, including The Main Stage, the Rewind Stage and the brand-new Misfit Arena, will offer a diverse mix of acts across the day, at what is set to be one of the rowdiest events in Wales this year.

Last on the list but by no means least, it's the 2023 edition of Nottingahm's Detonate Festival.
Tickets for the brand's biggest event of the year go back on sale tomorrow and we're expecting record numbers to be waiting in line when they become available. And here's why...
More than 60 live artists covering everything from house and techno to drum n bass will take command of a series of stages located across the festival site, including a floating stage and a special woodland hideaway. Among those 60 names are the likes of BRIT-nominated producer, Interplanetary Criminal, UK chart toppers LF System, D'N'B pioneer Shy FX, Bou, Dimension, Sammy Virji... The list goes on.
