Spring is nearly here! We know we keep saying it but we’re excited. And now, it really is close. Genuinely. This Wednesday is officially the first day of spring, so we’ll soon be seeing plants and flowers blooming again, trees should be getting their leaves back, and we’ll be seeing more bees and butterflies. Lovely. 

But back to what’s really important: the best new events on Skiddle. This week is looking as brilliant as ever with a cool little festival in Accrington, 90s Baby Festival in Newcastle, a joint headline gig from Jessie J and Jess Glynne, Ibiza events, a bank holiday party at Manchester’s Progress, and more.

PRTY Presents CADZOW

Where: SWG3 in Glasgow

Beloved hard dance party starters PRTY are back with another hard-hitting event with a rapidly rising DJ and producer who will most certainly get the lovely SWG3 sweaty. 

One of Scotland's fastest-growing stars in the hard dance, schranz, and hard techno circuit, CADZOW, who hails from Motherwell, comes to Glasgow for his biggest headline set to date. Having supported huge names, including Alignment, blk., and Sara Landry, among others, CADZOW is now primed and ready to smash it in the headline slot. 

Joining him will be Stretch, GALLØ, and Carter Graham for a night of mayhem with huge kick drums you’ll feel in your soul and chest.

Say She She

Where: Content in Liverpool

Say She She comes to one of Liverpool’s newest independent venues in the heart of the Baltic Triangle in winter. 

The “discodelic soul band” from London and New York are known for their catchy hooks, ethereal melodies, and up-tempo grooves. With the vibes of disco back in the day but with crisp sounds and heavenly vocal harmonies, this is your chance to relive those sounds of yesteryear but with a more modern take. 

The venue, built from repurposed materials and shipping containers, welcomes some of the best new artists to the city, with tunes flowing through one of the best sound systems in Liverpool. If you love a good gig, Content is definitely worth checking out. And with this Say She She gig coming up, you’ve got the perfect excuse.

90s Baby Festival

Where: Newcastle Town Moor in Newcastle

The biggest party that oozes nostalgia comes to Newcastle this summer with some of the best blasts from the past.

90s Baby, which also has an outdoor party in Hastings and another festival in Manchester this year, offers a space for music fans to relive the magic of the 90s with the music that made the decade so brilliant. 

On the main stage will be Ronan Keating, Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys), Peter Andre, Atomic Kitten, FIVE, 911, Blazin Squad, Blue, A1, Samantha Mumba, and Eternal. While the Clubland stage sees Ultrabeat, N-Force, DJ Sash!, Flip N Fill ft. Karen Parry, Kelly Llorenna, and more.

In2music presents Jess Glynne, Jessie J Live In Concert

Where: Trinity Park in Ipswich

What’s better than a huge headliner with plenty of hits performing outdoors in the summer? All of that but with another huge headliner! 

Jess Glynne, with massive tracks like ‘Rather Be’ ft. Clean Bandit, ‘I’ll Be There’, and ‘Hold My Hand’, shares a joint headline slot with Jessie J, known for bangers like ‘Price Tag’, ‘Dominoes’, and ‘Bang Bang’ in Ipswich’s Trinity Park. 

An incredible showcase of pop music from artists known for their out-of-this-world vocals, it’s sure to be a highlight in Ipswich’s event calendar this year.

Soul Town Festival

When: Saturday 31st August - Sunday 1st September 2024

Where: Croydon Road Recreation Ground in Beckenham, London 

One of the best funk and soul festivals with some house, disco, and Motown, too, Soul Town has just revealed the second phase of its lineup

Over the weekend, music fans can look forward to sets from  The Four Tops, Tavares, Earth Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay, Maxi Priest, Kenny Thomas, Atlantic Starr, The Trammps, Jocelyn Brown, Odyssey, Gwen Dickey, Damage, David Grant, Cool Notes, and Julie McKnight, with music spread across two stages. 

In between acts, punters can check out over 40 street food stalls, the premium gin garden, and the cocktail beach. It’s going to be a dream.

SubCulture Bank Holiday Day Party

Where: Progress in Manchester

Progress comes in with another brilliant event, as they always do, but this time, it’s a huge bank holiday party. 

Dusky, Bushbaby, DJ Jackum, Daisy, Billy Leggatt, Nat King, Woody Boase, Cleopatra, and a special guest complete the lineup for this one, which spans a few genres, including house and techno. 

With its Funktion One sound system, an incredible view overlooking the town, and an incredible crowd, Progress is one of the best clubs in Manchester and a favourite for those who prefer underground sounds and artists.

THROUGH THE ROOF X ACLP: Eden Takeover NIGHT ONE and NIGHT TWO

When: Wednesday 1st May and Thursday 2nd May 2024

Where: Eden Ibiza in Ibiza

Through The Roof joins forces with Glasgow’s ACLP for some incredible events on the one and only party island of Ibiza. 

The fully Scottish takeover sees the country’s best DJs from house, trance, and tech house descend on the island. On night one, the Wednesday, there’ll be Hayley Zalassi, Red Buddha, Swatt Team, Benny, Danse Atmos, Charlie Preston, acrosstheboard, Strictly Different, and more. On night two, the Thursday, there’ll be Celeste, Dominique, Eva, Jude Bradshaw, Seven8, Lauz, and more.  

Going down in one of Ibiza’s best clubs with some incredible DJs, choosing between these two nights will be tricky. And that’s why we’re planning on snagging tickets for both!

Newcastle Student Ball 2024

Where: The Grove Newcastle in Newcastle

Calling all students in the northeast! To celebrate the end of the year, there’s going to be a huge blow-out at Newcastle's The Grove. 

With DJs including Meg Ward, live music, circus performers, and street food vendors, with food included in your ticket, it’s the chance to have a proper end-of-year party with your mates. There’ll be two rooms to explore as well as a courtyard and roof terrace. 

A free welcome drink is also included in your ticket! So dig out your smart clothes and get ready for one last big party to close out the year.

Oak Fest

Oak Fest is back, and this year, they bring a really great variety of fantastic artists. 

Boasting an impressive lineup with Kate Nash headlining, this one really is looking lovely. Joining Nash will be Bez & Rowetta (DJ set), effortlessly cool Dutch indie band Pip Blom, synth-pop/dance fusion artist Jessica Winter, Untold Orchestra present ABBA, dance act Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners, DJ Simba, and local band BB5. 

Tying it all together, the festival brings its legendary silent disco, a community market to explore in between acts, a hammock chill-out zone for when your feet need a break from dancing, and a variety of food and drink to keep energy levels high.

Crooked House Productions brings a brand new house and disco house day festival to Staffordshire this summer. 

Featuring a globally renowned lineup of artists, the boutique festival brings incredible music to a stunning location on the grounds of Chillington Hall.
