Its been another fantastic year down at 2022NQ with a plethora of DJs lighting up the basement from Greg Wilson and Norman Jay to Unabombers, Daniele Baldelli and Crazy P so we will be ending the year on another high and welcoming back to Manchester Jon Dasilva
Known in Manchester as being the co conspirator in defining the music policy of The Hacienda during the Acid House era, ?88-?91, he was slap bang at the centre of the early days of UK House/Techno music scene, something that still inspires his DJing and production to this day.
For the last few years Jon has holed himself out in the woods on the Stockholm archipelago and has been busily producing for labels such as Ellum Audio, Rush Hour, RevNo and Is It Balearic? He has recently been awarded "Best House Track 2012-13" at The International Dance Awards for "Love Somebody Else" by Jon Dasilva and Maceo Plex (feat. Joi Cardwell) and has just signed a 4 tracks of his H a ll o H a l o project to Berlin?s Get Physical Music?
Jon?s wide musical tastes and ability to work these genres into proper dance floor action also mark him out as a specialist deck-master, taking his cues from the legends that inspired him, the likes of Disco legend, Francois Kevorkian and House revolutionary, Ron Hardy.
Considered an influence on a whole generation of DJ's from Balearic Legend, DJ Moonboots to the ubiquitous star, Sasha, Jon has nevertheless retained a freshness of approach as displayed in his recent DJ mixes, where his penchant for the varied shades of techno and house, as well as his keen nose for sniffing out the most interesting modern producers have been so clearly evident. In short, he?s right on money!
Supporting Jon will be the Disco Mums who recently blew the roof off 2022NQ for the Canal Festival after party. The all female DJ collective have graced the decks of some damn fine parties over the past few years with their vinyl only sets treasured classics and disco bombs. Further support comes from LA77 from Chips with Everything who is a regular player at our Friday night After Work Social and knows how to get the party started right!
