Weyfest have revealed that Newton Faulkner will headline their 2011 festival, which takes place in the picturesque surroundings of The Rural Life Centre in Farnham, Surrey.

The Brit-nominated, dreadlocked rockstar has had a hugely successful past few months. With his already gold-selling second album Rebuilt By Humans debuting at number three in the official charts and storming straight in at the top spot on ITunes, and his April tour already sold out.

The follow up to 2007’s number one, million-selling, debut Hand Built By Robots, is called Rebuilt By Humans for a very important reason. And it’s the same reason he had to delay, at the last minute, its recording by two and a half months. At the start of this year the singer-songwriter broke his wrist and dislocated his entire right hand. A bad enough injury at the best of times. But if you’re a guitarist – and a virtuoso finger-picking one at that – it’s catastrophic.

But thanks to the hard work of doctors, and some metal plates, Faulkner is back and will be showcasing his new album – as well as the old favourites from his 2007 debut, at the gorgeous Weyfest in September 2011.

Other acts already announced for the intimate, family friendly festival are The Blockheads, John Otway’s Big band, Focus, Dr Feelgood, The Christians, 3 Bonzos and a Piano, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and loads more.

Despite being one of the last events on the festival calendar, Weyest is already selling fast - and with an intimate capacity of just 2500, it'd be wise to get your tickets early.
