La Belle Angele, an iconic Edinburgh haunt that was sadly lost in the Cowgate fire is steeped in musical history. It's recently returned with a vengeance looking to regain its cult status as a prime Edinburgh hotspot which will undoubtedly incur when hallowed imprint Nightvision introduce a myriad of high calibre electronic acts to its confines in the coming months.
Nightvision represent a major coup when they attract Bicep to the fold, who in turn bring along the eclectic house wizardry of Leon Vynehall.
What started as an online project to bring attention to a wedge of weird and wonderful tracks via their blog feelmybicep.com, has rapidly accelerated for the duo, turning them into a fully fledged musical machine, producing house and recently techno monsters that everyone wants a piece of (check them out in action below).
Vynehall veered away from more hardcore leanings in his youth to concentrate on dancier tracks after being exposed to the cultural backdrop of Brighton. His break came in 2012 when he signed to George Fitzgerald's ManMakeMusic, and he has since continued to make a name for himself with his sample heavy ethereal vibes transmitted most recently through a mix in the Boiller Room, which you can check out below.
Jacking up proceedings with his bass loaded exploits is Ram records boss Andy C. He's been a pioneering figure since his early youth, playing various London venues before being swallowed up by the burgeoning jungle movement, where until today has continued to deliver innovative beats to the masses - evident from his mix below.
Adding fuel to the fire is MC Tonno Piper, revered on the drum and bass scene for elating crowds with his fiery on stage presence, luring the crowd into a complete frenzy, a perfect accompaniment to the high octane exploits of Andy C. Grab your tickets here.
