Following the recent announcement of Pete Doherty's Strap Originals launch show, which will take place on the 8th of August, Northenden Fringe Festival has released the first-wave lineup for this year's bash that brings music to multiple venues in Northenden, Manchester from Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th August.
Northenden Fringe is a collaboration between Manchester tech and music companies Skiddle, GigPig, Modern English, SODA, Louder Than War, Manchester District Music Archive, and Music Evermore to support grassroots music and venues.
Set to transform Manchester’s music scene, the fest offers a welcome alternative to city centre events. Boasting a lineup of local and national talent including Tom Meighan (ex-Kasabian) supported by Andy Bennet (Ocean Colour Scene), legendary Hacienda DJ Jon DaSilva with a late-night set, Aziz Ibrahim (ex-Stone Roses) and Tommy Scott (Space) with free daytime shows, Jimi Goodwin (Doves), and JJ ROX with support from Nico Harmony at GMT Cringlewood Club. It’s set to be a highlight in Manchester’s 2024 music calendar.
Ensuring the events are accessible so music can be celebrated and enjoyed as it should be, headline tickets are just £10 with daytime events free.
Dean Skarratt, festival organiser, said, "We're bringing world-class talent to Northenden, creating a festival that celebrates Manchester's rich musical heritage while supporting independent artists and venues.
"This is about more than just music - it's about community, creativity, and showcasing what the suburbs have to offer."
And with some shows starting at 11pm, Northenden Fringe provides the perfect afterparty for those attending Blossoms and New Order at the close by Wythenshawe Park.
