Stanton Warriors, Gabby Young and Other Animals, Chief, 3 Daft Monkeys, Apples and Talons have just been confirmed for Nozstock Festival 2010…
Stanton Warriors will headline the Cubicles Dance arena on Saturday night. Having scooped the DJ Magazine Top 100 award for best Breaks DJs for the past two years the Stantons are poised to release their eagerly anticipated new album in Summer 2010. Also just announced are the fabulously eccentric Gabby Young and the Other Animals, Domino Records buzz band Chief, Apples, Talons and 3 Daft Monkeys with many more soon to be announced.
Initially started as a ‘barbeque on the lawn’, the last few years have seen this festival blossom into an eight-stage three-day extravaganza with bands, DJs, comedians and performance artists. Nozstock was nominated for 5 Festival awards last year and is a great place to go and enjoy some eccentric fun.
This year there is a competition for Nozstockers to design and build the centrepiece of the festival which will be displayed in the middle of the lake. The winner will receive two free festival passes, a feature on the Nozstock website and inclusion in this year’s festival programme and publicity campaign. To enter send all designs and sketches to toki@nozstock.com by midnight May 28th. Filmakers should also send their short films as the best will be shown in the cinetent.
Set within the grounds of a 17th century farm Nozstock has a family friendly atmosphere, the kids can go to the Wonderland kids area where they can learn to make carnival costumes, puppets, listen to stories or just kick back for a well deserved nap. There are lots of stuff to get involved in like learning stage combat, or watching the out of this world light show in gnarled trees of the coppice, or laughing in the comedy tent with comedians such as Stephen Frost. All while listening to a rich musical tapestry of punk, dubstep, drum and bass, psy-trance, ska, acoustic, classical, folk and blues.
There is a real underlying sense of community at Nozstock with locally produced food, farmers market, craft workshops and the BBC Hereford and Worcester Introducing Stage promoting local talent.
